plenty frames pop up on ebay or njs frames shops in bigger sized for sub-400.
plus how many frames do you actually need? -
• #3
i dont understand...
-
• #4
SWIM?
What size do you need? 58s come up every so often for about 400 on the bay
-
• #5
The fuck is swim?
-
• #6
Also.. In the next couple of years? Save your cash now and just import one?
-
• #7
I actually had to google that and it is somebody who isn't me
I think it's stupid
-
• #8
There you go, SWIM is very stupid sometimes.
SWIM wants something nice and preferably 2 of them :) in around 58-60 -
• #9
I Googled it too. I received a load of results with regards to British swimming associations :-)
Big NJS frames are never going to cost £45 or anywhere near that though...
-
• #10
Check NJS Export, frames in those sizes mostly cost between $900USD and $1500USD.... Even in Japan they're never going to be what one would consider to be 'cheap.'
I think a better option for you would probably be to buy a TFG S2.

take some european stuff over and swap it.
-
• #12
^^yeah didnt Jadias basically pay the same as website prices for his peloton?
-
• #13
Yup yup, having spoken to Jadias quite a few times, he has said that the price difference really isn't that major on frames.
Though with that said, the price difference in contemporary is quite large. My Zen cost $125 (excluding imports and delivery of course). But the same ring here costs £125.... And the same with 75's. $210 vs £210....

Ah well I guess SWIM would come home with tons of NJS components instead, that's not such a bad thing.
Even if SWIM doesn't come back with a frame are there any cool shops SWIM should check out? -
• #15
seriously if you dont stop swimming i will nerg the shit out of you
-
• #16
Surely that depends on where you're going? :-/
But Gira Gira in Osaka. Also known as Tracksupermarket.com

Great thread.
I love njs frames, it's well worth buying loads of njs stuff in Japan because the quality of njs components is so high infact much higher than any other components widely available in europe.
I import stuff in bulk 3 or 4 times a year. I just love njs stuff that much.

Rep!^

Presumably this chat is all concerning used stuff?
In which case there's a few guys selling stuff on ebay cheap enough that I really doubt you'll save much by going over there.
So long as you buy a load of stuff together the shipping aint bad and my last lot of stuff came marked as a gift so I didn't have to pay any import charges or tax.
If you want a cheap big NJS frame though, spend your money on some raffle tickets for Pistoffski's Makino.
-
• #20
Yes, SWIM did mean used stuff, will buy raffle tickets when get money, even if SWIM doesn win it's for a good cause.
-
• #21
seriously though why are you saying SWIM? what's wrong with 'a mate' ?
-
• #22
Meh thought people would get it.
-
• #23
No they didn't but it is really annoying.

There are bargains to be be had in Japan but it takes some work - scouring Yahoo auctions and visiting velodromes.
If I sent SWIM on a frame buying mission to Japan, I wouldn't expect them to have to take so much time out of their holiday - you will almost certainly have to pay import dues if it gets sent back so it's probably worth trying to find one that's already here.
NJS Supermarket is a little bit cheaper if you visit the shop in person though so they might be able to pick you up a few nice components.
SWIM just heard in passing that they might be going on a holiday to Japan in the next couple of years with their family and SWIM was wondering where SWIM should go to find some nice bike parts.
SWIM aslo heard that NJS parts and frames could be had way cheaper in Japan, someone got a bridgestone for 45 didn't they?
SWIM is sure that they wouldn't be able to find such a bargain but is it realistic thinking SWIM may be able to find a frame for under £400?
Another problem is that SWIM would need quite a large frame.
SWIM does not want their family to know they are planning on bringing money for bike parts on holiday.
SWIM would really appreciate any help
