Bought the frame of a chap in London, must be going on a year ago, anyways I told him I would put a picture up when I finished it, so here it is. A mate a work got the lugs chromed for me at a good price, I then took it to a painter in Berkhamstead who powder coated it and put a fleck laquer over the top, a very good paint job too and at a very good price. ( one problem, I wanted a deep red and it came out more brownish ). I put mainly campag equipment on it because there is nothing better in my humble opinion, with mavic wheels / hubs and good old LOOK pedals.
Peoples views please. ( don't be to harsh ) -

I didn't know there were painters who did bikes in Berkhamsted.
Don't suppose you could let me know the name? I'm from that neck of the woods and it's always useful information to have.

P & R painters, north bridge road off billet lane. They are not an out and out frame painters, they pretty much paint anything. I had a mountain bike frame powder coated by them 15 years ago and it's still going strong.
As stated, they did powder coat this frame and a raleigh frame I was rebuilding, but it's not that thick as champ powder coat. At first it looked like an enamel until he told me.
Really cannot fault his work. This paint job cost me £50 and it does not chip. -

Would put up more pics but it took a mate and myself at work ages to figure out how to do it. I havent ridden it yet so I'm not sure how it will handle and may need some adjustments. But it will be out on the time trial circuit next year, so the Dronfield with the 24" front wheel will have to sit in the shed.

nice.. as always you can't really know with powder-coating colors... they usually show the RAL scale, but it's always better if they can provide example plates. Good is you have lacquer on top of it and it's a classy color anyway. Show off some of these fancy lugs with HQ photos! :)

I really hope you will be able to show some process photos. or just some of the state before you started renovating it.
