Some people have told me they will.
Anyone without a team can just turn up, and we'll sort them out.

There were never any "hammers for mallets" and Downham. The yellow pipe and golf/ski pole system (2 bolt) was well established by the time we'd left Brick Lane (although ti and bamboo were certainly staples of the "good 'ole days").

I saw Ryan and Janky James playing there with what can only be described as hammers when I first started. It's possible it was just them.
-
• #15
Ha. Yeah, that's true. I think they got lost on their way somewhere else though. That was a very rare event.

It's looking pretty likely it's going to rain a lot, at least in the morning.
We'll see how it goes, but no point doing it in the rain, too many wet tournament this year.

Ah shame. Let's just have some throw-ins and beers at Downs and do this another time.

Obviously a mallet is a type of hammer.
Bowling? Lawn or lanes?

Time?
Ah shame. Let's just have some throw-ins and beers at Downs and do this another time.
As long promised, there will be a Christmas tournament, at Downham (pending checking the state of the court), on the Saturday before Christmas.
As we've had loads of unusual formats for tournaments recently, this will be a standard 3 vs 3 tournament.
Note, this is not a serious tournament, but basically an excuse for a piss-up, So we don't want to see the same old teams turn up. Get into the sharing and caring Christmas spirit, and play with people you've never played with before.
There will be prizes for:
Format will be decided by the number of teams, but something that's not too intensive, allows lots of time for drinking, and is fun.
Secret Santa. Bring a small present, and you will receive one from someone else.
Anyone is welcome to play, but as a warning for those coming from afar, if it starts raining, I'm going to the pub.
