Hey gorgeous! That was a lovely surprise. Made me smile until I got to the Oval :-).
Not at all. I do a few cross-country races with my running club and that Saturday is one of the important ones, even though I'm one of the slowest runners.

I really want to do this but I have a tattoo booked for the 10th that i can't cancel (non-refundable £80 deposit). I'm getting tattooed right at the top of the inside of my arm.. not sure it's wise to cycle so soon afterwards due to chafing?!

I might be in. Where is the start meeting place and what kind of time are we setting off? I'd like to invite some not-on-here ladies but I won't be meeting up with them before the ride as they live north and I live south so I'll need to be able to tell them where to wait.

Sorry - I'm an idiot. I'm doing the Watership Down audax the next day and I had a brief moment of thinking I could do both - but that is clearly not going to happen. If edscoble and Bothwell are slightly broken from Southend I actually have hope of keeping up the next day. Next time.

Weather's looking pretty rubbish for Saturday http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2643743?day=4 :(
Poots, do we know what time and where we are meeting for this?
^^^Edscoble, I'll be heading up from Tower Hill, so if we are meeting at Victoria Park then i'll probably be on the same route there as you.

I'm afraid it look like it'll be raining all the way to Southend-On-Sea...

Nggghnnnnn. For boring reasons beyond my control (cough work cough) I can no longer do Saturday :(
Feel free to go on without me if someone is happy to take lead - alternatively can reschedule a ride for Sat 26th or Feb 2nd.
Sorry kids!

I was just about to say that I can't go either - need to be in Cambridge by early evening so can't fit in a trip to the seaside too.
If anyone fancies either riding to Cambridge with me or some sort of Kent trip in the morning then that'd be cool. Well, actually probably really cold, seeing as it's going to rain all day. I'll take a thermos of tea.

I'm still free this Saturday for a ride, but seeing as the weather looks terrible perhaps it's a good idea to postpone the ride for another time - especially so you can come Poots!
I can do both 26th Jan and 2nd Feb, although I have evening plans on both dates so would have to get the train back pretty much as soon as arriving, but that's fine.
Also, slightly OT, but I've got a large short sleeved Ladies Jersey that's too big, and looking to get a medium. Poots, did you say there might be a medium knocking about somewhere?
If anyone knows anyone that might want a Large please let me know! It's not been worn, just tried on! -

Hold that thought Pops - will PM you re: jersey shizz but I reckon we can get you downsized as it were.
Southend ride saved for a warmer, nicer day.
Now to be replaced with a easy 35 mile roll, given the sub-zero temps predicted for Saturday, around the Essex/Herts borders - pretty villages, Henry Moore sculputures, pub lunch AND a windmill.
Here's the route deets: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2166516
There's a train at 10.10, getting into Bishops Stortford at 10.45 - how does that sound?
