A budget would give a better indication of what you could be recommended.

A quick look on ebay revealed this Volume Cutter V5:
These were being offered by one seller for about £169 brand new recently, so this (barely) used one should be even cheaper....

I would look at something with decent tubing first and foremost. Look to Spend around £100
Crank, I'd suggest a Sugino Messenger, around £30 used in decent condition.
Shimano Sealed BB £12 New
Brooks Saddle £30 Used
Kalloy Seat Stem (upgrade later) £15 New
Nitto/Cinelli Stem £30 used
Nitto/Cinelli Bars £20 used
Campagnolo Brake Calipers £25 used
Diatech Dirty Harry Levers £30 new
Headest, Dia-compe £15 or Campagnolo Record £50 (your choice).
Brake Cables - £10 new
Chain KMC Z-410 £6Total £323 or £358 (with campy headset)
You should be able to get this down by hunting out a frame and forks for around £50 though, they do exist.
I forgot pedals, you'll have to push it around.

Keep checking the classifieds and FGFS threads. Something suitable will turn up eventually. I recently sold this:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread89558.html
In the end it went for £200 without the wheels.

I loved the scrambler while I had it. Hard to beat for the money. Shame all those cheap Volume frames seem to be gone now. Always fancied one.

Seem like solid bikes for the money, hopefully I can nab that cutter on ebay.

It was only meant as a rough guide to what you should be looking at spending per item to stay within budget.Building yourself a bike from the frame up can get rather costly, rather fast.

But I've already got wheels and I know roughly what I'm getting so it shouldn't be too much

I'm looking to sell my Subrosa malum which may suit you?, It's 54cm seat tube & 56cm top tube. I'm 6ft and I ride it as its set up in the picture. If your interested I could sell it minus the wheels or anything else you already have.
PM me if you'd like more details.http://www.lfgss.com/picture.php?albumid=1752&pictureid=14573
Ok so I've decided to build my first trick/commuter and I figured I'm gonna need some help parts wise. Only thing I've bought is wheels so far velocity deep v and an aerotrack. Could anyone suggest frame/forks and any other parts they know are strong and long lasting but won't burn a hole in my pocket
Thanks.
