get that bike on a track right now, whatever country youre in, donmt piss about with it on roads

But it's snowing here and we dont have indoor velodromes in Finland :/
Anodizing was done by myself. Which is why it aint that smooth. The material on the seatpost was somehow *wrong, *and the post ended up smoky hazy more than black.

^ yep. stay chrome, get any drops (doesn't have to be track) and race it.
-
• #11
the chrome is slick, why paint it?
though a nice Rossin decal would do it justice, don't you think? -
• #12
How did you anodise this yourself? You got your own bath?
-
• #13
you can anodise in anything big enough to hold the object.

Anodizing is a fairly straightforward electrochemical prosedure. Main things to remember are 1. Be careful, know what youre doing 2. Prepare the items properly.
Like sumo said, whatever buckets/bathtubs/barrels you have, its all good. You dont want too big of a container though, you'll waste a lot of acid and aluminum if its too big.I wont explain the whole procedure here. First of all, English aint my native language and i might be misunderstood. Second, dont want to be responsible of "OMG i accidently this bad".

Gorgeous anodizing, Is that a sparkle dye? How did you fill in the white campagnolo logo on the cranks?
-
• #16
^ I think some with paint on a pencil, 'rub' it in and then remove the rest thats left on the cranks with a rag.

Is that how you did the Dura Ace on my seatpost?
Can't believe how neat it is.

Yes haha, my father did it for me, he's better in that sort of things. But it was a quicky, could be done neater.

don't like the combination of half black, half silver regarding the parts. also that the chain looks like a half link is shit.
Might aswell throw this to the wolves. The frame is an 1985'ish Rossin Record Pista, Columbus SL, 57,5cm. When I got this it was repainted in celeste, which was obviously shit and wrong. So i stripped the paint, only to realize that the painter had done a good job and destroyed the half-chromed surface to stick the paint to it.
After some interesting events I managed to get it re-chromed and am now debating with myself about the paintjob. The original idea was to maintain the fork, mother tube braze-ons and the rear triangle chromed, get the rest painted with something nice and fitting. But the original plan was also to equip it with Gipiemme's Special Pista groupset. Things changed, I could not find a correct rear hub for the set, so new plans.
Atm the bike is equipped with Campagnolo-stuff. A mate i-dare-you'd me so had to anodize the cranks and the seatpost, of which the latter didnt really like it. Will bring back to shiny when i cba. Wheels Mack/H+Son/DT Comp. ITM Citta'di'Bassano+3TTT Moscow.
