  • Hi Everyone,

I am looking to start a new clothing brand with a cycling inspired theme and I really need your help, I am trying to do some market research to validate some of the assumptions I have already made for the brand and I just want to make sure that I aren't barking up the wrong tree.

The brand is primarily going to start out with good quality T-shirts with cool cycle related graphics screen printed on them, along with hoodies, sweatshirts, beanies and hopefully cycle caps.

As a cyclist myself I find myself drawn to cycle related stuff whether its technical clothing or high street fashion, having said that I don't often see much in the way of cycle inspired high street fashion that is actually cool or something that I would wear.

Also if anyone knows of anywhere that prints on cycle caps could you let me know? The only one I can find don't take orders of less than 2000 pieces, which is a bit out of my league at the minute.

I have put a few questions together that I would love to get answers to from you guys if possible. The more of you the better, all I ask is that you answer as honestly as possible. See the link below.

I spoke to David a few weeks back to check this was ok to stick this on the forum so hope your all ok with it too.

    Cheers

  • Also I forgot to say, I will pick a random forum member from those who respond and leave a email address to win something from the range once I have had some stuff made up.

    Cheers again

Just to reiterate though this is going to be non-technical clothing to start with at least.

  • Filled out, best of luck to you, sounds like a cool project!

  • Done. Good luck.

  • Good luck. By the way I have the t-shirt that you have as your avatar, on the topic of cycling themed casual clothing...

  • done - good luck with the brand

  • Quite alot of people are really focusing on fit, I'm particularly interested in what sort of fit girls want.

Do you want girl fit Tee's (Cut for boobs and waist) or are you now wearing more of a boyfriend fit, i.e. a smaller man's size worn slightly baggier?

  • Also does anyone know where I can get cycle caps printed up?

Its doing my head in, all the ones I have found look shit quality apart from the Italian company I found that only take massive orders.

  • Good luck. By the way I have the t-shirt that you have as your avatar, on the topic of cycling themed casual clothing...

Yeah I have one from a few years ago.

  • Done. Interesting to think about why you actually purchase clothes beyond just "yeah, thats alright."

  • Done!

Ha! Did the survey and asked not to leave the girls out...personally I prefer to go for small men's size/more of a boyfriend cut as ladies sizes tend to be quite short in the body which isn't so great for drafts on your kidneys when on a bike!

That sort of confirms what I was thinking, out of interest what size would you go for if wearing men's tee's, if I went xs would they still be too small?

  • What's a 'sweatshirt'?
