I'm not quite sure how to answer your question. Most people's main consideration when buying a bike is getting one that fits them properly but it sounds as if you have deliberately bought the wrong size of frame. Whether a frame that's too small makes it real easy to jump on and off is anyone's guess. Your choice of stem lengths, again, seems to be based not on whether it will fit you but what it will look like. As looks are such a personal thing, it's impossible to give you an answer.
Sorry.

I'm 5,11 and can fit most 54s with about 130mm stem with drops and hoods.
As yoav has said if you're new to this you'd best get a 56 and a cheap 110mm stem and go from there. Fit depends on body shape and what kind of riding you're doing. Stem length obviously depends also on the bars, hoods and riding too.

6ft tall? 54cm frame (54cm TT)?....you're going to need a long stem!!

Unless you have freakish proportions, you don't really want a Pista stem on a 54cm PreCursa, it will put the bars too low. A 10-11cm ±10° stem is most likely to put the bars in the right place. Use this calculator to experiment with different set ups.

I want it to be real easy to jump on and off.
Buying a small frame won't make any difference to this.
You either sling your leg over the saddle or bars. Both of these are going to need to be at the 'right' height whatever the size of frame they're connected to.

Not necessarily, I use a 110mm on my 54cm 464 and I'm 6'1"

I use a 80mm.....anything over 100mm is huge!

Thanks for all your advice everyone. Just to clarify my odd choice of size.
I have a 58 already as my SS beater and a 58 road bike too. For a fixed gear I found I have much more control when the my body and legs are more compressed, and I can also swing my leg over the front a load easier than my 58 cm SS.
After having a go on my mates 54, and another mates 58 I decided that for my first fully fixed gear I would go with the 54.

Thanks for that, I think thats really gonna help. That calculator is brill and I think you are right about 10 degree 110mm stem after using it.

Phew, glad it's not just me. I was worried I had made a gigantic error then.
Thanks again! Overall I think I am gonna go with 10 degree 110mm.

I've recently purchased a Deda pista track drop handlebar 31.8mm and I'm trying to find a stem with a negative degree that would make the slope look nice onto the handlebar, any suggestions?
So far I've been looking at these:
Thomson Elite, but not sure which angle.. 5 / 10 degree rise?
Any suggestions would be massively appreciated!

I had the Deda Pista briefly, quite a nice stem, lightweight and seemed well made. FYI Ribble was the cheapest on both the Cinelli and Deda when i was looking.

I'd recommend the deda or thomson, for the precursa the deda will probably be better because of the bigger drop given which you'll find nice due to the tall headtube on the frame, but if you're riding the deda pista bars, the thomson should be enough in 10 degree

Thank you both!
I want to buy a pista stem for my new build - Dolan Pre Cursa.
Looking at this:

I purposely bought a 54cm frame even though i am 6' tall, I want it to be real easy to jump on and off.
What length should I get? 100 / 110 / 120 / 130. I want the bars to have a nice low drop, but I am worried if I go for anything above 110 it will look weird.
Any help would be appreciated.
