  • as i wanted to switch to roadbars and roadbrakes on my daily commuter (all city nature boy) i had to look for a smaller size (58cm instead of the current 61cm). couldn't found a used one and additionally i also wanted a new color. as this would assume in the same price range of custom made frames i decided to go for one.

i always wanted to have a custom made frame and always liked jacek as person and framebuilder so i sent him an email which he replied only one day later. he will now start modelling my dreams into cad.

it will be the geometry of the nature boy size 58 but with a monostay and a straight top tube. tubing will be columbus zona, fillet brazed, will fit tires up to 38mm, fork with a lugged crown and production will take 3 to 4 weeks.

i'm not clear about the color, as my first intention was something like the dosnoventa pink, but the ral color chart seems limited. in the past i always wanted to have a yellow look kg396 piste so my current idea is to go for yellow (sulphur yellow, ral 1016) but there's still time for a final decision.

all parts will be black, a few i will take from the all city and a few i will buy used/new.

1st thing i bought today is a new wheelset: 32h hplusson tb14 laced to blb king hubs.

seatpost: kalloy (from the ac) or a new rose race attack

    saddle: from the ac

    handlebar: 3t ergonova

    stem: no decision yet

brake lever: cane creek drop v

brakes: shimano v-brakes (from the ac)

freewheel: white industries (from the ac)

crank: fsa vero (from the ac) or a new one (no decision yet)

    chainring: velosolo (from the ac)

    headset: no decision yet

  • Sounds ace! Needs gummwall knobby 32mm tyres:) Go for pink!
so I take you're selling the all city?

  • CK headset, Thomson stem and post with flite saddle of course for extra slave points

  • yes, bike and most of the parts will be for sale. grifo tires are currently mounted and looking good. will see how it matches the color of the frame.

    update:

freewheel: white industries (will change from 17 to 16)

crank: black white industries eno 44t (found an unridden bargain)

  • pink!

  • Dam I want your AC!

  • you can have it with most of the parts. but you have to wait appr. until end of january 2013. just drop me a message and we can talk about it.

  • Cool! I'll message you this eve

  • Grifo Challenge x Hplusson TB14 x BLB King hub x Sapim Race

  • white industries, 175mm, 44th (chainring came installed like that, will change it to the right position soon)

  • more parts that will be used.

3t ergonova pro 42cm and cane creek drop v levers

    white industries 16t

jacek had to order a fork crown (lugged, fitting tires up to 38), so it will take a bit longer to finish the fork/frame.

  • I use the same levers. excellent with bb7 disc brakes hopefully they'll be as good for your setup too. very heavy though.
can I ask you how jeceks prices are atm?

  • i'll running v-brakes with those levers.

i'm getting a customized frame and fork mad out of columbus zona, filled brazed, bb part and fork crown with lugs, wishbone stay, canti socks, mudgard socks and shipping for 700euros.

  • thanks. that sounds so nice. really looking forward to see the result.

  • jacek is still waiting for the lug for the fork. meanwhile he built the fork legs, the chain stays and the wishbone.

  • pink and yellow!

  • you know that yellow and all black makes sense ;)

  • i know, still my favourite :)

  • I have something a bit similar from Jacek, sized mainly for drop bars, with a straight top tube and the same kind of tyre clearance. Strictly fixed, though, and aimed for road use, with different options in construction details. I've been riding mine since last summer, and like it a lot.

  • jacek is still waiting for the lug for the fork.

    arrived.

still not sure about color(s). anyone with specific ideas or pictures?
    mountainbike 90ies colors?
current idea is ral 1026, decals black, all parts are black too.

  • And a cracking mtb paintjob

  • i like the idea of the matte grey (a bit darker than the one above) with some neon decals and probably neon colored fork.

  • ??

  • But reversed obvs.

Sounds good. I like the fact the headtube is picked out in black on that Singular.
