Just wanted to let you know about the** Fixed Magazine #13** launch which is happening at the Impetus Momenta talk on the 6th of December.

We have not had a launch party for Fixed Magazine for a while now, but we decided to make an exception in this case as it coincides with a talk that we are putting on.

Recently I had the chance to speak about riding "Fixed" at the Design Museum's Bike V's Design event. The interest I received that night was overwhelming and many people left with questions about Fixed Gear that I did not have time to answer. So I have decided to put on an event, together with my friends that will cover a broad range of topics about Fixed gear.

The event is titled **Impetus Momenta **
*(The Impulsion of Momentum) *

Our speakers at the event on the 6th of December will be:

Tyron Francis (The Foot Down)
Jonathan Winstone (jonathan-winstone)
Ted James (tedjamesdesign)
and Andy Ellis (Fixedgearlondon & Fixed Magazine)

Impetus Momenta Is a presentation about the history of Fixed Gear. The ethos of riding a fixed gear bike on the street, It’s evolution, design and the surrounding culture.

The main  theme of this talk will be to raise awareness about the benefits of  riding a fixed gear bike. Whether it is riding in the congested streets  of a city, endlessly through the vast openness in the middle of nowhere  or ascending / descending mountains. To us  the Fixed gear bike is the most important form of transport ever  devised. Perfected in it's inception, balanced in it's form / function,  and once you have mastered riding a fixed gear bike, you feel at one with this form of  transport more than any other machine ever invented.

Impetus Momenta will include:

Talks by Ted James / Patrick Seabase / Tyron Francis / Jonathan Winstone / Andy Ellis with a Q&A at the end.

I hope some of you might find this interesting enough to possibly attend. I have been a member of this forum since 2007 and I firmly believe that this is the community that matters when it comes to fixed gear, as I have said to David / Velocio on many occasions.

I don't think we as a group can possibly cover everything concerning the history of Fixed Gear, but I do think we have a lot of experience / knowledge / stories / and a great ethos about riding Fixed to share.
