Bent sprocket attachment

  • I have a bent sprocket attachment

I had to find a patent to work out what it is called

    1/ Can this be fixed?

One of the 5 bits that connect to the chainring is bent

CNC ALLUMINIUM I guess it's almost impossible to bend back?

2/ Just how dangerous is it to ride with only 4 bolts?

  • You bent the spider part of your chainset? How exactly?

Who ever called it a sprocket attachment?

    Its fucked. Replace it ASAP.

  • get it to an engineers, ive had brake discs pressed flat in the past, if they can do that to shit stopping half a ton at 180mph id like to guess they could press that right for you

  • crank is made of aluminium, doubt it will be very strong even if it was bent back into place

  • i doubt itd be an issue unless its the one on the crank arm, ive had an arm snap before, hurt like fuck or run it with four as isn see how it goes

  • Who ever called it a sprocket attachment?

Shimano - in their patent application

  • Bolt tab sounds less retarded, i'm not even an inventor

  • Shimano - in their patent application

I meant in the real world. Go and ask for a new one in a bike shop. I bet they don't know what you're on about.

Shimano use different terminology in their techdocs (usually 'crank arm').

Also you still havent told us how you did it?
