I bought this on ebay about 4 years ago. In that time I have ridden it twice.
It therefore needs a new home and to be ridden instead of collecting dust in my loft.
As part of the ebay sale, I was given the original sales receipt from ‘Roberts Frames’ dating it to 1980 and built for a man living in Croydon for the sum of £146.
According to the receipt it is made of Reynolds 531DB. There are no decals to back this up but it takes a 27.2 seatpost so I have no reason to question this.
The frame being 32 years old is in remarkable condition and does appear to have not been used in anger at all. There are a few marks on it around dropouts and the odd small paint chip. I have retouched up the area around the seat binder bolt as this had some paint flaking off.
Dimensions are:
Front / Rear dropouts are 100 / 126
Seat tube 57 CTT
Top tube 56 CTC
Head tube 15
Takes 700c wheels
Short reach brakes nutted
The geometry is standard road angles
Campag dropouts, nice semi sloping fork crown engraved R, very fine gold lug lining.
I had Chas Roberts install a new Stronglight A9 headset when it went in for an alignment check. It also comes with a NOS Campag Nuovo Record bottom bracket. 114mm double. I can remove this if not required.
Stunning blue with old style decals.
Looking for £175 which is what I bought it for.
Collection SE6 or I can deliver to Victoria, Waterloo, London Bridge.
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot
