Read an article about this recently, might have been on the Guardian's website.
From what I recall, ticketmaster(?) may transfer it for you but the only way of doing so is by calling their customer services.

Yeah i read those too.
Was wondering if anybody knew if i would be handed something (wrist band etc.) after collection so i can give to my friends before hand.

If they do do a wristband they usually put it on you there and then and won't let you wander off with it
The article says you must present at the ticket office with the other named ticket holders -

Ok, so for future reference.
Paperless is really quick and efficient if you are the one who is going.
Rock up walk towards the entrance of the Gig. Have the people who are going with you then give the attendant your card [swipe] tickets come out. walk off. Dun.

Anyone got any experience in the process?
I need to get somebody else in with my paperless ticket... I unfortunately cant go but dont want to waste the ticket.
I can get to the venue etc. with all the relevant paper work.
HELP!
