been around for a while. But you have to add your own stats.

Hilarious...

It's run by Zach from the US.
i've been adding a lot of the results, but it's a slow process.
It integrates with Podium, so any results from that are included. If we all use Podium from now on, this process will be very easy.
You need to sign up, and claim any results which are yours, as people may enter them as a slightly different name.

How come it's only pulled 2 teams from the beginners tournament?
-
• #6
Oh, it's probably not been entered from Podium yet, I'll remind him.

Cam, for example, there are 3 records for you:

http://hardcourtbikepolo.org/polo/main/player/30961.html
http://hardcourtbikepolo.org/polo/main/player/31106.htmlYou should sign up, and claim those three as you, then they get combined.

Some interesting stats so far, but remember this is a very limited set of data.
In Europe:
Biggest scene: London (by a long way)
Most games played: London (just)
Most points: Paris (by a fair bit)
-
• #10
Its all fairly inaccurate until every player and every tournament result gets entered though. Some scenes don't use it at all.
-
• #11
Which is why we need to encourage the use of HCBP.org and Podium.
-
• #12
John, you're pretty well up on Podium, but how easy is it for others to use - e.g. could I just visit the website and set up a new tourney in the same manner as I can on Challonge?
-
• #13
You can now yes, it's one of the features I've got Vince to add.
It only does basic tournaments out of the box, so a Swiss stage, and then an elim (double or single).
If you need more complex tournaments (multiple swiss days, groups etc) he still needs to set it up, but for most tournaments it's the same as challonge.
You go to http://hardcourtpodium.com/ and select the Use Podium link at the bottom.
All the things like courts, teams, rounds, bracket size can be edited later.
To make the process even easier, it integrates with HCBP.org, so you can do you registration on there (HCBP will also integrate with paypal to manage your registration if you want), and then when you setup the tournament import all the teams, saving a fair bit of work.

I find that site a complete wind-up.

At the moment, I can confidently say that I am the worst lefty in London, and will be for some time!

I spoke to Zach and he mentioned that he could take exports from Challonge too, I tried (and failed) to get the old London Open results on there, etc.

Any constructive comments? What don't you like about it? What would you improve?
I'm in constant contact with Zach, so can feedback any comments to him.

Yep, he can, it's a bit more work though (no easy export).

It's like the site is designed to be as unintuitive as possible currently!
(As long as the backend's sound then it's only a matter of time until it gets better I expect.)
Things to improve:
Layout, use of images, use of colour, nested information (overviews ala Google Analytics where you can choose to drill down for more data, or simply browse), buttons, hierarchy, traffic paths (logical/intuitive rather than fairly random as they are now), etc.I imagine most people currently just look up their own team/name and then quickly get bored, the site is painfully uninteresting to the uninitiated, perhaps this doesn't matter though if it's just going to be an archive and used for seeding in the future? The data collection side to it and integration with Podium is freaking awesome.

thanks dave, sorted it now.
its a really good idea and once it is properly used it will be great. lots of tournaments have not updated games
http://hardcourtbikepolo.org/polo/main/index.html
Not seen much on here about this. Is it in Beta or something?
Who's seen it? Who know's nothing about it? Who uses it? Who updates and edits it? I'm thinking H-Bomb has his sticky fingers in this pie or at least could shed some light.
