This site is supported almost exclusively by donations. Please consider donating a small amount regularly.
Hackney Bikeworkshop needs more volunteers
As the Hackney Bikeworkshop grows and develops we are looking for more people to get involved so if you are interested in helping with any of the following roles we would be very happy to hear from you.
Greeters - to introduce people to the workshop, to take their contact details and take donations.
Publishers - To publicise the workshop through the internet, social media and leaflets.
Teacher/Mechanics - To show people how to fix their bikes you do not have to be a top mechanic infact an ability to teach would probably come in more handy and the atmosphere is very supportive so if you do not know how to do a particular repair you can just ask someone else.
We have a specific day we need help that is World Mental Health Day on Sunday 14th October when we will be running workshops in Gillet Square, Dalston details below.

**World Mental Health Day **
To Whom It May Concern
Following a recent conversation with you, SHP is a charity that works with Hackney residency to promote independence and sustain tenancies. We are working along side the Vortex in Gillette Street to put on an event that will celebrate the richness of all aspects of communication and creativity including storytelling, knitting, poetry, and baking to provoke, excite, animate and entertainment in aid of World’s Mental Health Day.
We would love if you would be involved in facilitating the bike maintenance section where people could drop in and get a diagnosis, and simple repairs in the same format as the workshops run at Frampton Park and Stoke Newington, we will have available puncture repair kits to hand out to people who participate in the workshop.
The event will take place on Sunday 14th October 2012 2pm -7pm and we can supply you with refreshments and nibbles throughout the day.
Your involvement would be greatly appreciated and I hope you to hear from you soon to discuss further.
