  • Meet for prompt 10am start, at first stop Prufrock, Leather Lane. Nice and central for those not so familiar with this 'ere town.

    Route/map: http://goo.gl/maps/o4WFS

I ordered some spoke cards from Bernie's favourite printers (they look wicked) and I've made muff for the start, a perfect accompaniment to that first coffee of the day. :)

We will visit 6 of the following venue suggestions we voted on:
    Caravan, Kings Cross
    Bermondsey Street Coffee
    Cadence, Anerley Hill,SE19
    Ozone, Leonard Street, EC2
Notes Music Coffee, St Martins Lane, WC2
    Flat Cap, Borough Market
Coleman Coffee - Unit 5, Dockley Road, Bermondsey, Sat only 8:30-3:00
Jamaica Wine House, site of London’s first coffee house, founded in 1652 - could be interesting? Closed at weekends and doesn't serve coffee.
The Royal Exchange, trading centre for tea and coffee from 17th century. no obvious coffee here, besides we have enough suggestions
    Prufrock, Leather Lane
Goswell Road and/or Bermondsey Street Coffee
    Brunswick House Cafe, Vauxhall
    Federation, Brixton
    Algerian Coffee Store, Soho
Flat White, Soho - v small/no bike parking
    Flat Cap, Borough Market
    LMNH, Old Street
    Kaffeine, Great Titchfield Street
    ScooterCaffè, Lower Marsh SE1
    Rapha Club, Brewer Street
Fernandez & Wells, Beak Street, W1- v small though
    Climpson & Sons, Broadway Market
    Caravan, Exmouth Market

  • Shoreditch Grind right on Old Street roundabout. I know Prufrock on Leatger Lane do courses on Saturdays too so may be some tastings?

  • OK so how many coffee stops can we actually stomach?

The Full City guys who did the last Espresso ride in 2010 did 20 miles with 5 stops and a beer stop at the end.

  • easy.

I handled more than 5 espressos in half a day at the Coffee Festival, can do so again.

anyway, you can do 5 stops and only drink one coffee....have cake at the others!

Added Department of Coffee and Social Affairs for youramericanlover.

  • I love a democracy!

  • My participation is tentative, but I would be here for the company mostly, but also to discover coffee places that I never get a chance to go to. With the exception of the Algerian Coffee Shop or Monmouth, I don't work or live anywhere near the places on the list. It will all be exploration and discovery for me.

    List time.

Missmouse - I get into Kings Cross station. Cheers for the offer - am happy to find my way somewhere with a little help :P

  • It depends on the date, and I won't be able to drink more than one cup of coffee as that's all I can deal with (ever since I overdosed on caffeine at my previous work and started having heart palpitations and hallucinating), but I'm in!

  • This sounds good! I did that expresso ride in 2010 and Econodog also did a lil coffee tour both of which were a laugh - however both times I got so ramped up by the third stop I was like a smackhead, itching at imaginary bugs, trying to sell my goldfinger brake lever for just one more hit, just one more hit man c'mon please man.

missmouse's exquisite taste in soya milk must be the reason Prufrock made it on the list otherwise I would object its inclusion 'on up-it's-own-arse' grounds. But alas, their coffee is fucking good.

  • In but depends on the date.

I might be out of the country for the second half of October by the looks of it.

Late sept or early oct suits, but don't sweat it if the majority go for Oct.

  • Goddamnit. Work have changed to rot as, and I'm working Saturdays now.... haha. Anyone fancy a weekday slackers version too? heh.
