For Sale: Guerciotti (Alan) frame (56cm sq), Zeus 2000 fork, Campag/mavic wheels, pedals etc...

Frame withdrawn from sale as it is unsafe to ride. It is unbonded on several joints, and has an unrideable amount of movement. I am pursuing a refund from the seller.

~~Firstly, apologies for the photos. I dropped my camera, and have screwed something up in the lens, so it's in permenant tilt-shift mode.

I bought this bike just a few days ago, and I've ridden enough miles on it already to know it doesn't fit properly (which is strange as I've been fine on 56cm frames before. It must be the angles). I payed £370 for the complete bike (here's the original thread). I'd like [s]£130 for the frame, or £150 with the fork~~ price drop: £130 with fork. The frame is in good shape. It's lugged alloy, and made by Alan, and branded as a Guerciotti. A few little marks here and there, but overall very good. It has Italian threads, and comes with a 25mm seatpost.

Just to be clear, I'm not 100% sure that they're record (but that's what I was told when I bought them, and I have no reason to doubt it. Is there a way to confirm what they really are?). I'll do them for £50 together.

What is the TT [c2c] and OLN on the Alan, please.

Thanks for that....I love Alan frames....i used to look at them in Holdsworth's shop in Putney and drool. You say it was too big for you may i ask how tall you are...to give me an idea if it would be ok for me or not.

Too small....i was close....my inside leg is 34'' or about 86cm.....what do you think?

I think you'll get away with that. My inside leg measures at 91cm, and with a bit of seatpost out, it's rideable for me. 5 cm less leg should make it a comfortable fit.

I'd rather let the fork go with the frame, but if the buyer doesn't want it, then I'll measure it up for you.

Ah my worries were well founded....ironically most forums found that this occurrence happened with Vitus 979 frames which were bonded only whereas Alan frames were screwed and bonded and much less likely to do what your frame has done.

Good luck with getting a refund.
