• hello,
i have just picked up this frame.

i am looking for some steel 650 forks, columbus LX or 531 would be ideal, but would consider anything steel. 1" threaded.
slight rake or straight. the head tube is 90mm/ so i figure i need a steerer of 125-130mm.......please correct me if im wrong.

im also looking for a front 650 front wheel, clincher would be great. anything considered, but campagnolo large flange record hub, laced to grey mavic open pro, is what im really looking for.
    thanks,
    Luke

  • You should contact T4NY4, she has a front 650 wheel for sale, almost brand new and clincher (although not your ideal specs...). I'll pm her your thread now.

  • I may have some forks for you, will give them a measure when I get home.

  • Here's the link to my sale thread if you're interested in the wheel :)

  • thanks Vello, mrlemon and t4ny4...... pm sent, hopefully the forks will work out. the wheel is not quite what im looking out for, but if all else fails, and you have not sold it, i will take it.

  • i hope i can return the bike to something like the bottom picture.

  • Surely you'll want a much smaller steerer than that?

Reckon you'll struggle to find any headsets with 90mm stack height... Or you'd need a lot of spacers!

    Think you'd want nearer 130mm.

  • thats the advice i need.....i thought it was much less, but i read a blog that said to add 90mm to the height of the head tube......but i guess its just the headset, 90+35=125mm?

  • Yeah that's what I always thought, head tube length + headset stack height.

So yeah that sounds about right. If you need I have a 1cm ( I think ) 1" headset spacer :)

Try dropping Whittle a PM, he had some bladed ones he wasn't using or maybe the ones on here; https://www.lfgss.com/thread91513.html ?

  • that link is rather sad. such a shame. dropped him a message, thanks for the pointers.

  • been told i could be after a 24" fork........... anyone?

  • saturday morning bump....

  • yeah, by the looks of those completes, the front is 24"
unf for us both, as i seem to have a front 650c for sale exact to your spec
