I think journalists looking for a response now know that all they have to do is make one anti-cycling comment, and the more controversial the better, and then they can sit back and watch the outraged twittersphere cycling community give them more publicity than they could possibly have dreamt of.
It must be the journalistic trolling equivalent of robbing sweets off kids.

It's supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek article, but of course it's not funny because he's shit writer and has odious opinions. I can sum up the article for you all:
"I am a cyclist-hating cunt, but for a brief moment I enjoyed watching cycling. However now that less cycling is on the telly I have returned to my cycle-hating way because I am, at my very core, a cunt."

Is there something similar to godwin's law where you invalidate your argument by making yourself out to be a poor marginalised victim when it's clearly bullshit?
There should be.

Message from Richard Nye:
I am astonished at the reaction to my blog, which had nothing to do with cyclists being killed. I would never joke about such a thing. People have misunderstood my use of phrase. I will respond fully shortly.

"I will respond shortly" = "I am consulting solicitors/employment agencies"

I've sent him a well worded and completely shitty email. Also looking to clog up the Sheengate FB with derogatory comments. This has really got my back up.

not even gonna lower myself to reading it,
the voracity of what needs to make interest worthy press/ twitter streams is actually part of the issue.- half of its crap really imo
carry on as normal, the changes going on inside councils are getting a sea change of atitude towards cycling going.
e.g- me running upcoming track cycling try out for a whole bunch of professional engineers here in Bournemouth soon.
this Olympics has been good everyone believe -

Someone's already called him a cunt (much to his employer's dismay). Need to come up with something else to top that.

erm - it's not really that bad.
untangle your knickers, girls.
Richard Nye (@TheRichmondMag on twitter, The Richmond Magazine / Sheen Gate on facebook) seems to think cyclists are a nuisance, and they should be dead.
