Richard Nye (@TheRichmondMag on twitter, The Richmond Magazine / Sheen Gate on facebook) seems to think cyclists are a nuisance, and they should be dead.

I think journalists looking for a response now know that all they have to do is make one anti-cycling comment, and the more controversial the better, and then they can sit back and watch the outraged twittersphere cycling community give them more publicity than they could possibly have dreamt of.

It must be the journalistic trolling equivalent of robbing sweets off kids.

It's supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek article, but of course it's not funny because he's shit writer and has odious opinions. I can sum up the article for you all:

"I am a cyclist-hating cunt, but for a brief moment I enjoyed watching cycling. However now that less cycling is on the telly I have returned to my cycle-hating way because I am, at my very core, a cunt."

Is there something similar to godwin's law where you invalidate your argument by making yourself out to be a poor marginalised victim when it's clearly bullshit?

I've sent him a well worded and completely shitty email. Also looking to clog up the Sheengate FB with derogatory comments. This has really got my back up.

the voracity of what needs to make interest worthy press/ twitter streams is actually part of the issue.- half of its crap really imo
carry on as normal, the changes going on inside councils are getting a sea change of atitude towards cycling going.
e.g- me running upcoming track cycling try out for a whole bunch of professional engineers here in Bournemouth soon.
