let me show you, one sec.. puts the magic picture maker on
it's a bit of a pain, it's more like a thin little disc, maybe i can get the one you linked to and shave it down a bit.

yup looks like it's just a standard mtb brake cable. any local bike shop should stock them for no more than a couple of quid.

sweet, thanks for the nod, i figure it doesn't matter if the disc is a bit fatter. there's still the hole to put it in there and hold it and twist the cable through. is there any way to attach a new disc if it's broken off? are they soldered on or something? btw hatbeard, love the username.

It's called a nipple, A barrel nipple in this case.
If they detach its time for the bin. -

barrel nipple, cheers for that. i have a couple of new cables coming in the post.
hi there, i just had a front brake cable inner break on my dawes kingpin.
it was old but i should have lubed it up a bit, the end was dry but slighty rusty.
anyhoo.
the front of the kingpin has a front weinmann alloy brake lever.
the disc on the brake lever is a small round disc shape, if you can find something on ebay that will work can you send me the link either in reply or PM?
alternatively, if you have a front cable inner laying around that will work please advise.
many thanks.
