  • Are these tubs? Very interested. Provisional dibs. I'll pm you.

  • Seconds dibs if things don't work out with Sheathy

  • 2nd dibs please

  • By - literally - milliseconds it's 3rd...

  • Fuckers fuckers fuckers

I've been looking for a Holdsworth track bike for ages.

And you rat-racer have a very nice Jacques Suire to be getting on with!

  • PM'd my sloppy nth dibs anyway :(

  • oh come on people let tommmm have this.......!

  • Tommmmmmm - you're right. Just couldn't resist it! Take my dibbage place by all means, I do have enough on my plate.

  • Should have PM'ed me in response to this because I would pay over £200

    ^^

    I love you both.

I have just arranged to pick up another bike, but I'm happy to disappoint an apparently odd-sounding guy in Belgium if it means I can own this.

  • Amazing... and daft cheap.

  • This was when the need for a Holdsworth track bike to accompany my road bike started.

  • Ha, this one is much nicer...

  • I know. And I've since come to realise that I'm not as tall as I thought, and I don't want a gate either. My road bike is 61cm but my other bikes are 58cm and they have come to fit me very nicely.

  • Ok, can't believe the response for this bike
I've had loads of PM's and offers.......so i think i must have f##ked up with the price.
I'm based in Derby and i can post at buyers cost.
This might be a bad idea but i'm going to sell this to the best price via PM by midnight.
Sorry if this isn't the proper way to sell but i just want to get the best price.

  • That might put the cat among the pigeons... Chris, might very well come see your Raleigh this week if poss. But let's talk about that off this thread. Tommmmmm, godspeed...

Defo priced too low to be fair, but I think Tom sounds like he has been after one for a while so I withdraw my interest (expressed via PM). Rat-Racer - think my Raleigh may of sold but will let you know if not, welcome to view in the meantime either way...

  • I'm not really sure about the idea of a bidding frenzy either, though in the interests of transparency I should admit that, while I have shared my reservations with the seller, I have also agreed that the price was too low and made an offer which I thought more reasonable, though I feel terrible for having done so and would neg myself if I could.

Before he posted his intentions to take the highest bid, I also said to the seller that, if those who had got in contact before me weren't interested, we could discuss price and collection then.

But I don't want to get into any funny stuff or turn the forum into Ebay-lite, and I do massively respect the fact that this isn't really the way things work here, so I will withdraw my offer and throw the bike to the howling pack if needs be.

I have been searching for a similar bike for a while and would like to garner the sympathy vote. I can also promise it will be tasteful, I'm thinking orange tyres and BMX pedals with no straps.

    Thanks.

  • :(

  • I dont think you have done anything wrong Tom, you were willing to take it at the asking price but said you would pay more as you believe it to worth more.

I hope the seller chooses to sell it to you.

  • I don't want to be a prick but I must admit I feel a little miffed about this. Was pm ing the seller and all was well and I'd confirmed my interest ... Next thing I read his post on here hmm.
