I've always loved this frame, how much would you want for it
-
• #3
I'd say £250 for the frame would be about what I'm after, and about the same for the wheels. I'd also be open to trading the complete bike for a complete steel-framed road bike.

Okay. First dibs on the bars go to you, but before I let them go, I'm waiting to hear back about someone interested in the whole bike. I do have a set of Cinelli Tempo bars (pictured on the bike, when it had black wheels), which I would sell. They are scratched around the clamp area, hence I taped them right up to the stem.
PM'd regarding the whole bike.
Thanks. I look forward to your reply.

I am very keen to get my hands on some Cinelli Tempo bars if they are going.
Cheers

Thanks. I look forward to your reply.
I didn't get a message back from you? :S

can the frame take 28c tyres on the back?
-
• #19
with the wheel forward in the dropouts, it was very tight with 25c. If you put an extra link in the chain, you would probably get away with 28c. I don't see why you'd want to though?
-
• #20
I'm running a 28 at the moment and I don't want to waste the tyre
-
• #21
Are you london based? If so can I come and have a look?
-
• #22
No, I'm in Suffolk for now, but if you want to view the bike, it's about a tenner each way to get the train to Ipswich station from liverpool.st, and I can meet you there to check it out.
-
• #23
I'll have to think about it but thanks for the info
-
• #24
it seems knuckle may have first dibs on the tempo bars that are on the earlier bike picture, but for all it counts I am very interested in them scratches and all.
2nd dibs on them?

DIBS frameset, will PM now.
I love this bike, and really don't want to get rid of it (I sold it once already, and had to buy it back!), but it's just not practical for me anymore, and I can't afford to keep it and have a practical bike too.
I am not 100% sure on it's origins, but the previous owner told me it's probably a Poyner, and 531c tubing. It makes sense as it's very light, and takes a 27.2mm post. I have been riding it brakeless on the road for the last couple of years, but it does have drillings front and rear, if you do want to run it with a brake. The current setup is as follows:
Poyner frame and fork
28h Atlanta 1996 rims on Miche primato hubs
Omas Italian headset
Miche ISO bottom bracket
Campagnolo Strada cranks
Galli 52t Chainring (Drillium)
Dura-Ace 16t sprocket
Concor saddle
Generic 27.2mm seatpost, wrapped in black insulation tape (this was only supposed to be temporary)
Cinelli 1R stem
Cinelli LA84 pursuit bars
Fizik velvet bar tape (grey because that's all I had)
Here's a picture:
I was planning on stripping the powdercoat, as there are a few chips and scratches, and having the frame clearcoated, and changing the seatpost. This is just cosmetic stuff though, and it rides really well as it is.
It used to look like this (some of you might remember it?):
Anyway, I'd say it fits roughly like a 56cm. I'm 6' tall, and it's realistically a little on the small side, with regards to seat-tube length. I will get some proper measurements later.
I would like £550, including delivery to Liverpool street station, for the complete bike, or I will split if there is interest in the frameset and the wheels.
These are the prices I would like, if I split:
Frameset including headset: £250 posted
Wheels: £200 posted (including good tyres and tubes)
Cranks with chainring: £60 posted
bb £10
Bars: £20 posted
Stem: £15 posted
Saddle: £15 posted
