Why is it everyone who owns a range rover thinks they're above the law? If the police are pressured enough, they must surely be able to access a camera?

Retweeted and noticed LCC, along with many others, have too.

Thanks Emma, do you have any desription of the cyclist (or cycle).

Think how much something would have to shock you to convince you to go home, research London cycling forums and fire off a detailed email like that. Not exactly spur of the moment. Hope somebody comes forward.

I have taken the liberty of posting a link to this on yacf.

Emma is away for the weekend and likely cannot respond until Monday or Tuesday. I have sent her the link though and her account on here has been activated.

She did actually post in another thread, it went unnoticed:
Good luck to all of you! I am trying to find a cyclist who was deliberately knocked off his bike at around 7.30pm last night at the Hyde Park Corner end of Park Lane, at the lights. He was having a row with a big guy in a maroon Range Rover, who then deliberately drove in to him and knocked him off his bike. I am happy to be a witness.

Well done, Emma. Hope we find him.

Obviously not everyone. Some people on here have Range Rovers and would never drive like that.

Any news on this?

As yet, we've not traced the cyclist.

surely the person who saw the incident could report the range rover what ever, the police would have a record or could find admissions to hospitals on that day

Typical useless response from the Met - "I tried calling the MET but they could not tell me if an accident had been reported or not and suggested I go into my local station.".
Emma doesn't have a reg number - presumably she passed this happening whilst in traffic and couldn't stop.

Thanks all for your help.
In 10 yrs of cycling around London and being subjected to all sorts of crap & abuse from motorists, I have never seen anything quite like this!
The bike was either matte black or dark matte gray & was either a fixie/single speed. The cyclist was white, short dark hair, slim, probably 30s. Not great descriptions I'm afraid but I was driving.
When I drove past the same spot the following day, I had a look at where any cameras were pointing & could not see one that would have covered that spot - typically!
There were quite a few pedestrians around, so perhaps he has heaps of witnesses already as it all happened just as the lights turned green...

if no one ie the rider has not reported it the operator spoken to would not be able to find or locate the incident. if the rider called at the scene police would attend, if he called from home they would go there. there is also a thing called data protection which means the operator who answered a call would not be able to provide info to a member of the public over the phone, not even to a witness as it could damage any legal proceedings, hence the reason to attend a police station. know what you're talking about before you jump on the 'useless' bandwagon.
Received this by email, trying to locate the rider so that if he has reported it to the police he can be put in touch with the witness.
And additionally Emma posted elsewhere on LFGSS:
If anyone has knowledge of who the cyclist is, please let us know.
