For Sale: Off Topic - Trainers!

Posted on
  • Due to the discriminatory and frankly height-ist policies that excluded me from selection from the GB Men's Olympic Basketball squad, I'm selling my high-top trainers.

I'm in Bath at the moment, so postage will be required, or I could deliver stuff in the South West area. I'm in London this weekend (10th - 12th of August), but you'll have to meet me in Brixton as I am there to get drunk, not to shuttle shoes about.

#1 - Black and White Nike Terminators
    UK - 9.5 EU - 44.5

Terminators. Show your appreciation of our robotic enslavers else you'll be the first against the wall when my phone gains sentience and realise I only use its vast power to look at tits on the internet. They've got 'Nike' in outlined bold capitals on the heel of the shoe, just in case someone doesn't know what that weird swoopy logo on the side means.

Pretty good condition, a few scuffs to the heel and a little yellowing to the sole, but otherwise alright. The start of a little heel rub on the inside

    £15

#2 - Blue and White Nike Vandals
    UK - 9 EU - 44

Still got the original straps around the ankle, nice silver and blue highlights, sole and stitching. I bought these in New York, and when I was walking to ABC No Rio (CBGB's is for poseurs) some skaters said I was "Fresh to Flesh". Now, you too can be Fresh to Flesh! I think this is a good thing!

Pretty good condition, a little grubby around the edges but like 'one night down the pub that got a bit 'dancy'' grubby rather than '5 years of daily use' grubby.

    £20

#3 - Red and White Nike Air Force 1
    UK - 9.5 EU - 44.5

The choice of profession basketball players and drug dealers everywhere! I had a friend who thought that new shoes were really lame, so he put his AF1's in his washer/dryer with a bunch of gravel for that 'distressed' look and managed to completely screw the machine, his mum went fucking mental. The point is, if you buy these, you won't have to wear them in! You'll look like you've put years on the court/street corner without having to train/spend your nights sweating about every fucking police siren. The red also complements my navy sofa, which is also for sale if you fancy coming and getting the bastard thing.

These have a yellowed sole, but the white leather upper is still pretty good. The toe box is a little creased, as these are the only pair I didn't store with newspaper in. There is also a black mark on the inside swoosh on the right shoe, which I can't seem to get off (visible in the second photo). They'll still hold up to years of abuse.

    £20

#4 - White, blue and yellow Nike Air Assault
    UK - 9 EU - 44

Again, I bought these in New York the day after seeing Chromeo play. Dave 1 was wearing a pair of Air Assaults with a grey suit, just demonstrating the versatility of this shoe when you're one of the suavest dudes around. If he doesn't know what's good with shoes, I literally could not tell you who is.

I've probably worn these shoes about 3 times. Good condition, apart from some slight discolouration to the elephant skin section on the toe, and a small wood-fire scorch on the back of the left shoe (Third photo). Fire safety is important, kids! Of all the shoes, I've found these the most comfortable, the ankle support is much snugger than even the strapped AF1's.

The elephant skin looks a bit two-tone in the pictures below, but that's only because I'd just given them a clean. Quite an even colouring irl, lol.

    £30

#5 - 'Active Teal' and Silver Supra Skytops, Chad Muska 001
    UK - 9 EU - 44

The very first of the Supra 413 range, they only made 313 copies of this shoe. Of that, I think only ~ 3 shops in England were stocking Supra at the time, and I happened to know the owner of one. Hence, super limited and very uncommon to see for sale. Absolutely brilliant if you're a trainee astronaut or really want to make an impression down the working mens club.

I have literally worn these shoes once, for about 3 hours, and then boxed them again. The come with the hangers, spare laces and original box. Apart from a bit of dirt on the underside of the shoe, they might as well be brand new.

I only discovered today that they have a 'stash pocket' underneath the tongue of both shoes, which is useful for concealing small items from interested parties such as wedding rings, SD cards or A BAG OF DRUGS*. If I can find my old Ed Banger compilation records you can have one of them and being the coolest guy ever in 2006.

These shoes are pretty limited edition, so I'm asking £80 ONO. Some delusional muppet has a NOS pair on eBay at the moment for $650 actual, real dollars. I'll also insure them for postage, if you fancy.

I'll try and get hold of a shoe-box for all of these, but unfortunately only the Supra's come with their original box. It's been a while since I gave a single shit about shoes, so feel free to knock the price if you think it's unfair. I will also trade for nice bike parts as long as you are taking a massive loss. I've got a bunch of other photographs if you want to see anything else.

I also have an almost unworn pair of Glow in the dark Dunk hi-tops, and an interesting Adidas pair which even a Sneaker Freaker employee was unable to identify (i.e. almost def fake, but pretty cool) which I'll take offers for, but I'm not massively interested in shifting.

*may have influenced my purchasing decision.

  • Pictures of glow in the dark dunks? :D

  • Pictures of glow in the dark dunks? :D

Pretty unlikely to sell them, and will probably be asking 140+ for them. They are absolutely radioactive though, they glow SO BRIGHT and for so long. Absolutely the coolest shoe.

  • Great for sale thread, repped. Would buy if I wanted them

  • Was it AF1's that Turbo wore in Breakdance the Movie?

  • From a cursory google they look like Court Forces, but don't let that dissuade you. Got to be Terminators for breakin'
