Crank recommendations

Hi, looking for some advice for track cranks.

At the moment on my commuter I've got some lasco one's with a square taper BB.

Getting set up with a Giant Omnium - and wondering what cranks people would recommend (stick with square taper/ External BB?)?

Will be racing/training at HH.

Price range is negotiable - but probably in the cheaper end at the moment, as I'm still going to be new to racing

sram omniums to go with the giant omnium!

Are they really significantly better than the On-one external bearing set. Or for that matter the Sram s 300's.
(I'm sure they are better just doubtful if I'll notice the difference)

Also, bearing (ha) in mind that I've only paid 200 for the frame, 140 seems a lot just for cranks

Just bear in mind whatever you decide, if you intend to ride at the Olympic Velodrome sometime in the (distant) future you'll want 165mm cranks.
