Campagnolo Centaur Superlite Bottom Bracket

Posted on
  • I recently purchased a used Centaur Superlite Bottom Bracket on ebay. The shell on the BB is loose and rattles around alot and too my knowledge its not meant to, is it? Ive only really had experience with shimano UNs and a veloce BB so I'm not sure. I've messaged him and he says thats how it came out and I need to leave it like that to put it in but he is willing to give a refund. So is it meant to like that or should I send it back? cheers in advance for any help, I hope Ive left enough info feel free to ask for more or pictures etc

  • Never heard it called 'Superlite' but certainly some models of Centaur have a 'free' non-drive side cup which if loose allows the centre sleeve to move around. As long as the bearings are smooth it should be fine when correctly installed in the BB.

  • Yes, the later models have a loose NDS cup. The rest should be solid though.

It is a decent bit lighter than the Veloce model and has triple bearing races as opposed to two.
