coppi is nice..
-
• #5
how heavy is the coppi?
also, could i run a freewheel sprocket on those wheels?
-
• #6
A single freewheel sprocket would be perfect on these wheels.
Coppi weighs 3.8kg for the frame forks BB H/S & S/P (according to my bathroom scales).
-
• #7
do you think it could still do a 4 day ride through northern europe?
-
• #8
^ I'm quite certain it could - Steel lasts forever, and it's a nice comfortable frame. The headset's brand new and the BB's still running well
-
• #9
What steel is the Coppi made from? I'm definitely interested.
-
• #10
i'm also very interested in it as long as you're convinced it can be built up again to its former road bike glory
-
• #11
I see no reason why not - the BB is a standard campag ISO axle intended for use with a road chainset, and when I do a fixed conversion I never remove braze on's for precisely this reason - it's still got everything on there for road bike duties even down to the cable routing under the bottom bracket.

twiltshire has dibs on the frame and wheels
Patao bottle cages gone to MrWolf69
Everything else still available
Need to clear some space in the pottingshed so I can see what I'm doing......
Shed located in Windsor - happy to post at cost - for larger items I can also arrange pick-up at south or west beers, paddington clapham or waterloo.
Reasonable offers or exchanges of interesting bits considered...
1) Fausto Coppi 60cm Steel frame + forks + H/Set + BB + Seatpost - £SOLD to twiltshire
Nice 90's lugless steel Coppi frame by http://www.masciaghi.it/
4) ITM Eclypse - 1" Quill, 26.0 clamp 150mm reach!!!!! - SOLD
I think this must have come from big brother van looy's Van Tuyl TT bike in the 90's - he's a big lad
Suit riders with long arms and/or short cross bars!!! useful also if you want to ride ghetto low-pro - small frame, long seatpost and long stem!
In pretty good nick - a small amount of tarnishing
5) Beater Bullhorn/Stem Combo - £10
Choppen und Floppen Alps bars in Chrome on a Kalloy (faux Modolo) 1" Quill Stem (wrapped in Red Cinelli Softy Tape)
The corks come out of one end and they're a bit grubby - but for the money they ain't bad!
The stem is 1" Quill, I think it's a 25.4mm clamp, but I left my verniers in the office so I can't be certain.
Stem reach is 100mm and the bar width is approx 350mm C-C
7) Elite 66mm Mapei Bajiji Bottles - SOLD
IIRC these are ex Mapei team ones, I don't remember ever using them - they're far too clean to be mine!
2 gone, 2 remaining
8) 16T Dura Ace Sprocket - £7.50 posted.
Only a couple of thousand miles on this (all with a new 1/8" chain, so plenty of life left in it yet)
