Bit of penetrating fluid and a hefty spanner should sort that out...

That's a suspiciously similar paint job and frame to my beater! Mine's an old Claud Butler and came with a 'Reynolds 531 Renovated' sticker on it...

thanks, El Greeno. a lovely bike you've got. similar paint work but also quite a lot of differences: the lugs, cable routing etc. and i think mine might be slightly heavier than 531.

Did you flog it?i don't think it is from gazelle. didn't even bother to bother DC.

I'd snap that up, but it's 2 cm too long for me. The little tab hanging off the top tube is for a race number, so it's a quality frame....I'd hold off and try to establish what it is. Sounds like a gazelle. Anyway, good luck with the sale!

sounds like gazelle but looks different in details. and that paintwork scheme... did quite a research and still don't know the origin of the frame.
no doubt it's a good quality early 80s frame. thanks for interest, Wonka. -

the stem is shorter ; )

indeed.
Here is a nice no name racing frameset. No badge, no stickers, no info on the tubing. Bocama lugs and Shimano dropouts. Must be from early 80s - the BB (BSA) included has code of 1981 production. The headset is 600 EX arabesque.
Seat tube is 52,5 cm (c-t), 50,5 (c-c). Top tube 53,5cm (c-c).
Paintwork with some scratches and spots of rust. See close-up images.
The F&F are straight, no dings, dents etc.
One issue I had no time to deal with - the stem is stuck. Hope its' height and lenght (80mm 3 TTT) would be OK for the buyer.
Looking for GBP 80 + 25 postage payed Paypal gift.
