  • Tidy!

  • Real nice dude!

  • Cheers guys, it should be ready around the end of the month. Christy @ slatecycles.co.uk is building.

  • Looks lovely! Where are these guys based?

  • Dinorwig, by Caernarfon/Llanberis up in north Wales. A good reason for me to visit where ?I used to live as well as the beautiful country up there

  • I looked at going to uni in Bangor actually but decided it was too far from home. Looking forward to seeing this frame.

  • This is REALLY local for me (well, from where I used to live). I had no idea! Looks nice - interested to see it built up.

There seems to be a lot of these sort of companies around that area - DMM, the company who make a lot of my climbing gear, are based in Llanberis too.

  • Looks nice. How does it ride?

  • Really well, responsive and compliant, best steel bike I've had, better than my beloved 531 Gitane and a fair bit lighter, with Columbus Life tubing

Tbh that first pic wasn't the final bar setup - now has leather bar tape and perfect setup, for me anyway

  • Better. ;)
Would look ace with starfish cranks. I reckon they'd complement the swept stays.
With that much sweep, are they not really compliant, flexy even?

  • I think the overall look is bang-on. Very tidy and understated indeed. Not sure how the forks fit in with that though, but that's just personal.

  • I have starfish cranks if you are interested

Thanks. I wanted the ride and weight saving of full carbon forks, but at least they've been painted!

I like the starfish cranks too. Was after a pair recently but missed out.

Ride feels spot on to me, have had flexy rear ends with ultra skinny rear stays, but these have enough meat to not flex but allow enough ride compliance for my 75kg

    May well be. Pics/price?
