Quick releases IMO are appealling due to their practicality not their aesthetics, if anything they look the same/worse as normal nuts,
Use a decent lock and cable and you'll be fine, you'll have the benefits of quick releases and not get your wheels stolen. -

Thank you. However I think if I remove the one from the back, it might make more sense. Also I should take the saddle release off too
Hi there
I am getting to the stage of completing my first (proper) bike. It's a 70's holdsworth that I got powder coated in the same pattern as my favourite jacket.
I now however live in Elephant and Castle and feel it may be a bit of theft magnet. I thought quick releases were pretty at the time, but now I feel they are superfluous and showy.
The other problem I have is that it is proving to be expensive.
I am aware that it is a bit cheesy but could you guys help me with the following:
Should I cut my losses and restart (I'm not sure I would recoup my money)
Shall I p lough on.
I take criticism well.
Also is there a magical secret to uploading images to this website?
