About to PM you
Colnago Mexico - c.1983
55cm c-t-c Top Tube
55cm c-t-c Seat Tube
This is the Mexico with crimped downtube and top tube, made from extra light specially drawn Columbus SL tubing I believe.
Before I go into more detail, you should know the seat tube has damage as a result of a stuck post being removed. The top of the tube has sustained deformation and there are two small holes. Its been ridden like this for over a year without issue.
There are three routes you can go with this damage: 1 is to do nothing it can be ridden just fine expseically with the extra long seatpost (400mm) spreading the loads right down the tube. 2 is to silver solder or braze the small holes and do a half way decent repair. 3. is to send it to any frame repairer for a new tube to be put in (about £100). You can see that myself and the previous owners have not done anything other than ride it. Part of this is the frame is still wearing its original paint, which is worn but has excellent patina. If you did replace the tube, its a round profile so could be a mint restoration with the right painter.
Its a rare model not often seen around.
Included are the following:
Any questions please ask - hopefully the photos tell the whole story.
