-
• #8

In Paris and Dieppe we are using this company: http://www.etaphotel.com/gb/home/index.shtml
Cheap, cheerful and bike-friendly.
On the 22nd we will probably leave our bikes at the hotel and walk the 3kms to the Champs.
We are still waiting to hear back from the hotel in Gournay-en-Bray but if we can't get a room there we will bust on through the evening to Paris.

Will also be checking out the Polo, natch.

I know the etape. Would prefer to bust on to Paris though, maybe getting a night ferry and then on to Paris through the day?
I may continue down to font for some climbing too.

I am confused now. Is it from 18th to 23rd? 6 days.
train Monday to Rouen then Deippe for the ferry home
Need to know this to get my time off booked.
Also did you book your train ticket and hotel yet? -

Like this:
Wed 18 July cycle down to Newhaven around midday for the overnight ferry to Dieppe (11:30 sailing, we have a cabin)
Thurs 19 ride 80KM along the Avenue Verte to Gournay-en-Bray for a night(we have a room there)
Friday 20 ride 150KM to Paris(got a cheap room until Sunday [Etap hotels])
Saturday 21 see the Polo final
Sunday 22 pitch up early with crew on the Champs-Élysées to await the caravan and the final laps
Monday 23 train/ride to Deippe for the 19:30 ferry home
We are riding to Paris for the last stage of the Tour de France.
-down to Newhaven for the overnight ferry to Dieppe
-riding along the Avenue Verte(long traffic free sections)
-stop over in Gournay-en-Bray for a night
-ride to Paris on Friday
-two days to hang out in the capital
-pitch up early on the Champs-Élysées to await the caravan and the final laps
-train Monday to Rouen then Deippe for the ferry home
It would be cool to ride down with any fgss peeps or meet up in Paris, have a few beers/cheese baguettes and watch the final hours of the spectacle.
