Yeah thats what I reckon, perhaps a slight adjustment on the front mech to allow for any difference.....

Yes defo a square taper, I had the crank off at the time so was sure on that. Anyway 115mm Shimano ordered fitted and fine with some mech adjustment. Job done. Thanks.

yer i knoo it's easy to see when it's off but truvativ have (had?) a lot of eggs in the ISIS, oversized ISIS and other alternative bb/crank systems.

Just a quicky (search did not answer my question). Servicing my neighbours MTB and found that the bb needs replacing. I've not removed it from the frame yet but measured it as 114mm, crankset is a Truvativ compact triple (cheap thing).
I can't find hardly any 114mm square taper sealed bottom brackets. Do you reckon a Shimano 115mm will do the same job?
