I've got some miche performance ones that go to 57mm, they're pretty good if you're sure they're long enough. I could post them for £17 (they're brand new w/ pads).
Alhongas have been working fine for me on my dawes galaxy, they are seriously long though and don't quick release for taking the wheel off.

So have re measured and it looks like I need more like 59/60, thanks a lot for the offer though! Looks like those other ones are out of stock for the moment....typical. Have been offered some alhonga ones via PM, but they get somewhat mixed reviews online....will try to make up my mind by the weekend...
Glad to hear all of these stories of young women surviving their boyfriend's/husband's attempts to dispatch them using the nearest stop-light, gives me hope :)

I've got them on my new build and they're great, long enough to reach 700c wheels on my 27'' frame. I've not noticed any lack of stopping power myself; then again I've only been riding with them for about a week.

Thanks for that review....may well shift the balance :)

Cheers, but was really hoping for a dual caliper, currently has something similar to an alpha i think, but raleigh branded....looking forward to that frame ;)

Now sorted, thread closed!
Hey there all, hope you enjoy those last few hours of sun before the rain sets in!
Anyone have one of the above these going spare?? Need about 57mm drop.
Have finished building up the most unusual dutch bike though since it is going to be front brake only (no drilling for back brake :S ) I would like to replace current brake with something sturdy on the front so that I dont kill my girlfriend (at least not with her birthday present)...
Alternately does anyone know a good brand what makes them?? Google didnt come up with much other than these Alhongas which dont look too bad...
Cheers!
