Wanted: Ladies station bike - for 5'7" rider

am after a cheap beater that my girlfriend can ride the 0.5 mile trip to the station and back every day and leave happily locked up outside overnight without worrying about it being nicked.

budget is as cheap as possible. doesn't have to be pretty but would like it to be mechanically sound and if possible take a rear rack+panniers for shopping runs.

if we can pick-up from south/south-west london it'd be ideal but i'm open to offers from elsewhere.

still just a fishing expedition to see what options she has but if the right bike comes up then the money is there.

I've got something sitting in the garden. Dawes or ridgeback hybrid. (really can't remember)

shepherds bush is on london overground line isn't it? so if it's not rideable I can always pop it on there to get it back to south london quite easily.
