Which Vittoria Randonneur?

So I've decided to move my gator on the back to the front and ditch the crappy halfords tyre I'm currently using.

I've heard good things about randos on the back, so I thought I'd give one a try.

I'm looking for a 25 or 28c.

But which one?

28 if they fit; 25 sounded awesome in theory but reality was they skimped on everything that made the 28 the go to for skiddering

half of them are MTB and the 25c are discontinued anyway

I would just buy a different tyre for the front, or a gator hardshell for the back.

Hardshell shits all Randos in terms of wear. Randos are fun, but slow rolling and have gone through them in a single big skid in the past.

(yeah I know, I need to grow up...)

I'm not really liking the gator on the back tbh... but its really grippy so I think it'll work well on the front.

The rando is cheap enough that I'm willing to give it a go.

The grippiness is just while you "brake" it in... But yeah I guess you should try a rando. Super fun, just not economic...

I just fitted a pair to mavic open pros this evening, 700 x 28. Make sure you get them set around the valve area early on in the fitting and they go on very easy. I was using Rubinos previously, two years without a puncture.

Well isn't that what you'd always do when fitting a tyre first?

Randos are a real pain to put on.

I do believe Randos have caused problems for some.
