For Sale: 1950's claud butler frameset

  • got this the other week but its a 22" (not as described to me) so it won't fit and not worth me restoring just to pass onto someone else, lots of potential i reckon...
    unknown tube set but must date to from 1970ish according to the internet, cottered cranks and nice curved brake bridge
    comes with cranks/bb/headset, post and brake callipers, pedals and straps

    some rust on the head tube and fork but i think it could be sanded down and touched up as it's on the lug and crown - the seat panel paint is awesome

    a lot of brown gunk came out of the headset when i sprayed in gt85 to remove the stem so needs a full strip down i would say

  • Just seen a webpage that may date it to 1970, and also a link to a 1971 catalogue with the model listed as either a frameset or complete bike, this model was so named due to using a Campagnolo Gran Sport rear derailleur, which I think was Record level

  • no dents and built for 27", you can always make 700c fit but 27 is better of course
