Having spoken to the appropriate parties today i now understand the difference between a bike builder and mechanic. Apparently my (New, new) bike will be built by a mechanic instead of a bike builder tomorrow... hopefully they lay off the blue smarties and aren't over excited with my top cap/bung assembly.
If you see a CAAD12 Disc at work tomorrow please ask them to play nicely with it!

Needs more camouflage

Depends which shop you work in...? Spitalfields will be dealing with the latest one. I won't drag the others name through the mud just yet!

I work in St Paul, which is just me, the head mechanic and the bike builder whom just happen to be on here as well, and vouch for them.

those seatposts are crazy light

Noted, hopefully I won't have to visit you!
Going back to where the fields are green and the nearest traffic lights are 5 miles away for the weekend and looking forward to putting the bike through its paces!

quick question on bb30a. I know that I can set up rotor 3d+ chainset with 5,5 and 11mm spacers, but can I set up for example bb30 sram red chainset with spacers? Thinking about shedding some weight in that department if something cheap turns up somewhere. bb30 chainsets go a bit cheaper quite often. What happens with the q factor?
-
• #5211
Some Sram bb30 chainsets have a similar length axle to the rotor 3d+ chainsets so can be spaced out in the same way. Q factor remains constant - if we are just considering the Red crank - and isn't adjustable.

Basic Sram Force Group, XG-1099 11-32, Spyres, R1 Arione and the Hylix seatpin. Wheels need to be replaced asap, those Ksyriums are way too heavy
-
• #5214
I have those Ksyrium discs on mine, they are probably the reason it weighs as much as it does.
I'm amazed you found a seatpost like that in 25.4

better cranks and wheels/tyres/etc will pop you under 7, at a guess. Then some Ti bolts and less steerer and you'll be bang on the money.

I'd get one if I still had the original alu post on my caad

They are heavy! Looking at Hunt 4 Seasons for upgrade, should shave off around 250g or go for Aero and shave off nearly 400g!!

This is amazing, one of my favourites from your collection

Dropped off the cranks and cages yesterday, ordered the bars and stem today, frame should come in next week.
It's going to be a challenge to get it painted in time for my birthday, we'll see where we get to with that.

Bloody lovely.
I just gave my steerer the stare and it was suddenly the perfect length.
