Lovely Frame!!
Are your Deda's compact? There's a bit of chat about compact bars in the CP chat thread that might help you in finding a similar shape. Adaptor and the Bars you find comfy sound like a good start though.Look forward to seeing this one.

thanks for the compliments, all down to Robin's fine work
the bike was built with a clear intention - for long, fast rides and the purpose was met. what I love about robin's frames is despite them always being designed for a purpose (or many purposes such as velocio's nodder hybrid 29er shopper) they tend to look really good too, he has a great understanding of the visual proportions as well as the functionality/ ride quality

I'm a bit stuck on bar/stem combo at the moment as I really like my current Deda bars but they're oversize and 460mm wide and I can't find either a quill stem that would work with them or some standard size bars for a quill stem the same shape so might just have to use a quill adapter and use an Ahead type stem.
Thoughts, suggestions?I think I saw this on the bay, is it an audax(ish) frame?
i'd either look at those bonti bars or an adapter in the short term, and then if you like it and want to keep it, I'd probably drop him (or another builder) an email and see if you can covert the forks to an ahead. TBH there looks like there's enough space with all those spacers just to clamp around the threaded part with a shim.
..or many purposes such as velocio's nodder hybrid 29er shopper...
Says you with the nodder sized headtube!

It's rubbish. I'll give you £50 for it.

^^Yep, was on the bay. I almost didn't bid on it at all, until the last minute (literally), didn't expect to win it but I did! It was described as an "all-road/audax" frame yeah.
I think I'll try to play around with stem heights, angles and lengths etc. before I get any modifications, if any, done. -

-

£500?! That would have been a proper deal!
Well sorry chaps, but rest assured it's gone to a good home!

I still think it's well worth what you paid......what are they new? £1600 or thereabouts, plus the mahooosive waiting time.......?
Bargain, bwhatever way you look at it.
I've got 2 or 3 projects waiting my time.......and not a bit of time to do them at the moment!

Lol where is that for?
-

14mm? you mean a 10 for the UT bolt holding the cranks together shirly? (unless newer models have changed, in which case, i'll just shut my stupid face right up)
-
• #24
Aye, it's for the cranks.
Was quite surprised when I realised it needed one! (only used to Shimano kit previously)

cool. i like this bike a lot, veloce is nice as it still looks quite classic. i think Tel on here was doing some faux dustcaps to cover the center hole in the crank spindle too.
..second hand.
Built for a guy pretty much exactly the same size as me so it is pretty much perfectly my size.
It was fairly expensive but compared to getting one built for my self relatively cheap and with no waiting time! Winner! Considering it's basically exactly as I would want a frame - lugged 853 with all the right details and braze ons etc. I thought it was too good to miss. Although colour scheme choice is not mine it's not bad.
Build will start next week and then hopefully evolve over time as I'd like to compliment this fantastic frame with the components it deserves.
