CB, the softshell or the rain jacket? I was looking at the rain jacket the other day and it has some pretty favourable reviews. If you has it, any chance of a mini review?

I have the soft shell. Nick Hussy himself said that he uses the soft shell and if its going to be really wet take a thin light plastic jacket. The rain jacket version is not as breathable and more expensive get the soft shell.
Spent last thursday going round regents park in the rain and spray from the man aheads wheel. Was never too hot or too cold and was still dry at the end. Pockets in the rear are large and useful. Turns into a regular jacket when you get off the bike. Amazing construction not a loose thread or anything that looks remotely like it would start falling apart. Deff one of the nicest pieces of clothing I have bought in a while.

Hi CB, glad you're enjoying it! I'm really glad its as good as I hoped.
Actually I never use a wee plastic jacket except on MTB rides as an emergency if I crash and break something (as packs so small). The Vulpine Rain Jacket should be more breathable than Gore. I designed it that way, as cotton has a weave to let moist air out, so you don't get 'boil in the bag'.
The difference between that and the Softshell is that the Rain Jacket is better in ...Rain! and lighter weight, plus more 'tailored' for urban smart riding. The softshell is shower proof and warmer, with a lot more storage to the rear. Its the special cotton fabric that makes the Rain Jacket more expensive. Serious stuff, costs me a bomb. There you go!

lovely venue, didn't stay long, usual suspects there though..
-

Yeah, I popped in about 1. Didn't stay long either. Something about leaving tonnes of lovely bikes (mine especially) locked outside in South West London just made me a bit edgy (and that's coming from the guy who and lives and works there!)
