  • Jen then Ken.

  • I think this thread should be in "general" not miscelaneous & meaningless.

^ Jen then ken (even though I think he's an anti-semite)

Yeah, its a shame he was chosen as the Labour candidate as he has so much baggage and flaws.

  • Also, someone has been running a fun little twitter poll. Scraping tweets and looking at numbers of tweets and whether they have been generally positive or negative with R. It has loads of selection bias and it wont detect irony or sarcasm but interesting.

Pretty much: lots of chatter about Johnson and Livingston and mainly people critical of the latter.

  • Cant stand any of the candidates.

I think im going to just hold my nose and vote for ken in the hope that it will help milliband out.

Oh and photoshoppers please go wild on this.

    )

I think miscellaneous and meaningless describes most of the candidates

  • I was under the vague impression that Ken was pretty good up until I started actually reading what he's been saying on his campaign and now I just think he's a bit obnoxious and way too obsessed with beating Boris.

And he says he won't make any more of the new Routemaster buses and will commission electric buses instead. Bleugh. I like the new Routemasters, they're sexy.

  • This graph is depressing. I want to vote for Jen and Sioban but it seems like a waste when they don't even make up 10% between them.

    (screenshot from http://www.ukpolitical.info/london-mayor-election-2012.htm)

  • Heh, I was just reading the London Elects pamphlet and reflecting on how Paddick's campaign pic instantly makes me feel like I've done something wrong and I'm being reprimanded. I know it's largely association but he could've tried to look a Tiny bit less policey.

Scoot you get two votes so you don't have to worry about wasting votes. Vote for the candidate whose policies you most agree with then use your second vote tactically.

If you want Jenny in I'd suggest voting for her and using your second vote for Ken, as they work very well together and he'll put her in charge of transport if he gets in.

You actually want to help Milliband out?

  • I'm voting for Gilbert and George

  • I'm voting for Jenny Jones as she appears to be the only major candidate standing for principles rather than an ego trip.

I cannot vote for Johnson or Livingstone. Both are nasty divisive corrupt individuals. Paddock is also. He came to public attention because of a series of errors of judgment. He is also a muppet and his policies verging on nasty.

My second vote will probably be for the independent woman.

I know Jones will not get in but I think it important to record a strong protest vote against the contempt that the major parties have shown to Londoners by presenting us with three such appalling candidates.

I am amazed that Johnson and Livingstone command 80% of the vote. Two nastier politicians it is difficult to imagine.

You have a fine future as a political analyst Clive.

Is Paddock wearing lens-less hipster glasses in the poster?

  • I am also amused by how often Paddick suffers at the hands of autocorrect.

  • I'm voting for Gilbert and George

Yes they seem to have the right idea:

  • I'm only voting for Boris to help ensure Ken doesn't get in. I don't like it, but I have to go along with it. Ich nichten lichten.

  • I'm voting for Cliveo!

The only candidate able to string a coherent sentence together. What happened to the politicians of yore? They may have been oily, cheating scumbags who lied through their teeth and fleeced the people at every opportunity, but at least they did it with alacrity in an erudite manner.

Boris: brains, social skills and policies of a toddler
Ken: conniving anti-Semite with bus fetish and abysmal personal hygiene
Paddock: something you keep a horse in. Never trust a copper

Jenny jones, outside chance but I've never been a fan of those daytime TV programs.

  • ^^One Boris voter on here so far.
I'd like to create a forum poll. How do I do this?

  • Create a thread with a poll. It's down the bottom on the new thread page.

I shall also be voting Green, then Ken.

  • GO Boris!!!!

  • is it worth pointing out that you'll be voting for 2 candidates?

A few people have said that they will be voting for X to keep Y out. You don't need to do this because you can vote for your favorite candidate first and then for a second choice which is only counted if there is no outright winner.

I'll probably be voting for Jenny first but in the event that Jenny doesn't get more than 50% of the vote Ken will have my second vote to make sure I don't help Boris win.
