Pace/Dalby will also service them.
http://www.pacecycles.com/?page_id=817Could be costly, but well worth it.

tftuned forks are incredible for servicing and upgrading forks

hi andy, had a quick look at their site seems like 80 sheets will get them up and running perfectly once again
maybe it's worth having everything done in one go
might just have them re-furbedcheers again

Dalby did my brothers pace forks, they came back better than ever.
TFT are also vey good as james suggests.

TFT will service, upgrade and tune your fork to how you ride.
Not sure they were too impressed when I gave them my weight and said I was a little bit spazzy, probably most people say they are sick to the power of rad and planning on doing red bull rampage stuff on an 80mm fork.
But they do return your fork with suggested positive and negative chamber pressures etc. I know a few mechanics who watch the TFT videos just so they can look at workshop porn.

hmmm after the off roader to brighton my forks are now making a noise like a pair of bellows when pushing on hard ( like i know what that really is ) there is an air rushing / escaping sound as i lighten the load on the fork
they sound like a wheezy old man after an 800m with seb coei had them serviced at PACE about 1 year ago ? i wonder what can have happened

They're just really old dicki
Let them die ;-)
-
• #12
i hope people don't say the same about me !
-
• #13
It's just a tool that's seen better days.
-
• #14
they're like the dudes rug in the big lebowski
they really tied the bike together
look good and are a classic fork i refuse to give up on them -
• #16
+1 for TF tuned. I sent my fox floats to them and they came back BETTER than new. True story.
-
• #17
In all seriousness dicki, you should probably just contact PACE and ask them.
-
• #18
yeah probably the best idea
now just have to practise my imitation of a wheezy old man in a race with seb coe so i can do it down the phone to the receptionist ... just hope she doesn't call the police on me as a nuisance call -
• #19
I wonder if they record their calls?

I'd be interested to know what's up with them. I'd suspect you have dry lowers; the wheezing sound is just the air escaping through the (dry) lower wiper seals.
Pop the lowers off and have a looky.

Send them to Howard - he's in a tinkering sort of mood*.

Depends when / if you want them back - although I bet Pace don't require obscure proprietary tooling to strip the things down.

I bet Pace don't require obscure proprietary tooling to strip the things down.
I'll be amazed if they require anything more complex than a spanner and a rubber mallet :-)

And a large tub of grease.

Nothing like bashing half a grands worth of equipment with a rubber mallet to start the day.
Came to ride my MTB over the weekend and something odd had happened to the fork. The amount of travel was looking a bit skinny and the forks were bottoming out. Had a quick look at the forks and there is some steel rod sticking out of the underside of the fork.
In this picture you can see the offending article with the black plastic caps on ? This steel bar seems to have dropped out through the bottom of the fork. The other side is fine and all looks ok. I admit to adjusting the left hand fork crown adjuster before the ride ? Did I undo a screw that released that bar ?
Is there somewhere I can get a pair of Pace forks serviced ? They have been fine for the last few years but I guess they could do with a little TLC ?
How do I get the rod to go back up inside the fork ?
