  • This old ladies MTB was in the bin area in my flat.

    I knew it had potential.

Sourced second hand parts: Both wheels, crank set, BLB mini me bars, saddle, cane creek lever.

Bought: BLB grips, white quill stem, brake cable, BLB pedals, Shimano V Brake, chain, chain tensioner.

Pretty happy with the results. 150quid later and a lot of hours later....

Special mention goes to the guys at Micycle Islington, especially Apprentice Juan. Legend!

  • Nice work.
I wouldn't have looked at that frame twice.

  • Good job! Nice to see others building bikes for the better half haha!

  • Cheers Ed,

Was considering a repaint, didn't have time, funds or patience. Once the pish stickers came off with a lot of elbow grease and white spirit it came up ok.

  • love the colour scheme!

  • Really like this, my gf needs a new bike so I was thinking I'd be doing a project like this

  • Go for it mate. You'll be in the good books for a long time. Although converting a mtb to single speed isn't really ideal. Horizontal dropouts are an issue, and the chain stay is slightly out. Try find a decent old racing frame with vertical drop outs.

  • She's really keen on the idea of me building her a bike up, I have an old norco frame I could use, its just sourcing all of the parts needed.
