Doesn't want it to be garish...
...Bright green hubs + faux wooden rims ;)
That frame is really classy! And some sexy silver ware there, I imagine with those wheels on it'd look pretty funky as well, although it may be a good shout as you say to get some more classic ones.
Should be a sweet build

This looks like its going to be good, but for the love of god sell those wheels asap and get something more classic. Who id you buy them off in the first place?
-
• #6
Thank god we got here in time, could've ended up like this! ;)

Ha ha not quite, that is wild! I was just going to go for some gumwall/black tyres if that makes you feel any better...? The profile hubs are pretty garish I guess, but it's only a touch, so thought the build might be able to tame it. Performance wise, the hubs are awesome though...sooo smooth!

+1 for gumwall tyres!
-
• #9
Nothing is gonna tame those wheels fella they are already way past 11
-
• #10
But what can be more classic than wood 'effect'?! ;-)
-
• #11
How come the wheels are shot in a different room?
Must be trollin'.
Needs low flange campag pista's on TB13's.

Took pics of smaller stuff on my desk but light was crap, wanted to get better pics of wheels/frame etc
...??
-
• #13
^ Shot in other room because the teak rims risked clashing with the pine table?

Want those cranks, what BB are you running just out of interest?

There's a set in the for sale thread for a really good deal.
Campag Record 111mm BB is coming through this week hopefully.

Lovely project, and some beautiful components, in the main ;)
Glad to assist with the bars, it's going to be a classy build, perhaps too classic for those particular wheels, but good to see your wanted ad for a more suited Wheelset, i hope something turns up. -

Looks like some international buyers have jumped in there unfortunately (or fortunately for my wallet)
And cool, cheers for the info

scratch that looks like i'll be picking them up later!

If the spokes are copper, sell them for a lot of money. Copperprices are high.
Then buy something classic.

Can't wait to see this built up mate.
Hi,
I’ve got a little minter of a project going that I want to share with you all. Really like riding steel and loved classic simplicity of the Cinelli Gazzetta frameset, so thought I’d start a classic project revolving around this base. I’ve seen a lot of gazzetta’s in pictures and so many of them are really garish and bright, but I wanted mine to be classic looking, but still ride amazingly! It’s not going to be my everyday bike, so I wanted it to be a bit special.
Have had this in my head for over 6 months, and started accumulating parts slowly around October last year, so thought I’d do this in order of parts bought so you can see how the project has materialized!
First, the saddle...Brooks Swallow Titanium, bought off ebay. I just love these, couldn’t resist.
Teak Velocity Deep V / Profile Hubs – bought here.
Campagnolo Record Chainset 165mm 49t – bought here from Pistoffski
Cinelli Gazzetta Frameset – 60cm in navy blue - cheers to AndyL for posting this for me from London!
Cinelli Pope Handlebars – special thanks to Ben for letting me have these and doing a good trade!
Cinelli Grammo Titanium Stem 120mm
Campagnolo Chorus Titanium Seatpost – cheers to Tony for replying to my wanted ad!
Campagnolo Record Pedals
Record BB, toe clips, Pewter Chris King Headset and brooks bar tape ordered and on their way.
That’s pretty much it so far, though I am probably going to change the wheels for something more classic. As the project has progressed I’m not sure the wheels fit in well with the overall build, so I’m after some classic campag hubs with most probably some mavic open pro rims. Will update the thread with built up pics and new parts etc
Thanks,
meds :-)
