For Sale: 1992 Vitus 979 56cm Road Bike, Silver, Shimano 600, Suntour SL wheelset, Turbo Saddle

Still clearing out the bike storage to make space & raising funds for a SRAM Red carbon steed for the summer...

This time, we have a freshly recommissioned 1992 Vitus 979, 56cm, all aluminium tubes with aluminium lungs which polishes up nicely. Size wise, it'll fit someone from 5"10' to 6"1' ish.

I've just serviced the bike, replaced inner/outer cables, bar tape, polished and cleaned everything I could so it's looking pretty good for a 20 years old bike! Have a look at the pictures.

The specification is as follows:

• 56cm Vitus All Aluminium Frame, purchased new in 1992;
  
• Stonglight headset in good condition;
  
• Stronglight 100LX triple chainset 52T/40T/30T, BB in great condition;
  
• Shimano Tiagra triple front derailleur - 28.6mm band-on;
  
• Shimano 600 brakeset - new inner/outer cables;
  
• Shimano 600 rear derailleur with Shimano HG50 8 speed chain;
  
• Shimano 600 downtube shifters - new cables;
  
• Shimano 600 aero brake levers with white hoods;
  
• Suntour SL hubs (8 speed 12T-25T) on Mavic 192 clincher rims - recent tyres Schwalbe Blizzard Sport front, Continental Gatorskin back, both 700x23;
  
• Stronglight Aero seatpost with white Turbo saddle (excuse the angle);
  
• 42cm bars with new Deda Silver bar tape;
  
• 100mm 3TTT 2002 Evol stem (pretty sweet bar clamp on hinges)
  
• Look Arc pedals which will come with brand new unused cleats.
  This is a 20 years old frame which has been used for most of that time so bears scuff and scratches - come and see it, try it for size and cycle it home! The bike is in Chancery Lane, WC2A 1AF.

Price wise, I think *£300 ->*** £270** for the full bike is a great price.

I was told my pricing was a bit off so chopped 10% off.

It was good enough for Sean Kelly who won 7 Paris-Roubaix in a row on a similar frame, it'll be good enough for the tough streets of London!

I think you will find he won two Paris-Roubaix [1984 and 1986] and in total had 9 'Monument' victories.....still a lovely bike....had one many years ago.
