umm, i just came here to ask one question
is this bike really called storm shag pista, or are you just nick-naming it that way?.. -
• #4
Jup, it's really called shag haha ;d
-
• #5
"Fancy a shag?"
"Certainly. What size?"
-
• #6
haha, I really don't know why they branded it like this. But the bike is great :) Almost have the money for a thomson seatpost and stem :)
-
• #7
Did you buy that from marktplaats by any chance? I think I might have been considering it (or one similar) on there a while ago. Nice bike
-
• #8
Yes I did, thanks :) and it's in perfect state. Chris King headset and miche primato parts.
But I will turn it into some kind of HHSB.
-
• #9
Not the most original, but I guess everyone has those stages to go through.
-

Well, by just changing te stem and seatpost into Thomson, which I like very much cause of the material, its more of my taste and the seatpost matches the stem than, which I also like.
So it is original after all. Maybe not to ride with Thomson. But the whole bike is original.

I was looking at this bike at marktplaats as well. Nice paintjob. The toptube from 58,5 was unfortunately too long for me. How tall are you? If I were you I would make the brakesurface of the rims also black.

I'm 1.88, don't know what that is in feet :P Guy I bought it from was 1.90 so had to put the seat a bit down, but it's perfect for me.
Tomorrow I'll receive a thomson elite x4 stem and an elite seatpost :)
Brakesurface doesn't bother me that much.
Does anyone have some idea's for pedals/toeclips?

Does anyone have some idea's for pedals/toeclips?
This is the last choice i'm going to have to make for my track champion. Thinking of MKS Sylvan track & MKS clips + Double straps.
Might not be the most original, but it's functional, not that expensive and it's pretty. -
• #14
Nice choice, but 2 or 4 gate clips?
-
• #15
The most 'track' option would be 2 gates, so I'm going with that.
Does MKS even make 4 gated clips? -
• #16
I don't know, don't think so. I'm going for some cheap all city pedals I think, cause I like the look of them. Have some cinelli and christophe clips laying around.
And got a bottle cage for my saddle, gift from my LBS, one from the 90's orso.
Only need some propper grips and a black spacer. And of course some pedals.
Tips are welcome.

Strong V grips or Odi's.
I'm also highly impressed wit hthe fact that you have "Shag" written on your bike!
-
• #18
Ah - lose the bottle cages. How long is your commute?
-
• #19
My commute is 30 miles a day. But I just put them on for fun, got them for free. Allready lost them.
In the Netherlands "shag" only means a cigarette. And it is just a brandname ;p
-

Looks nice, I loooooove my lizard skin grips, get nice and sticky when warm :)
-
• #21
Thanks for the tip, I think that I'll go for some black Odi's.

Ordered some cheap all city pedals, just because I like the look of them. Also ordered some leather straps.
Now for clips I checked my partsbin and found some cinelli's and some christophe's.
What would be your choice?Christophe's are a bit more modern I guess, so would suit better. But I like the cinelli's more.

Use the clips that feet your feet the best. I spent too long riding round using too small clips.

Today I bought my first real track frame, which I will use as fixed gear.
It is a Storm Shag Pista, 60cm.
Storm is made in Petten, a small place in the Netherlands and is sold by one bikeshop. I bought this one second hand for a nice price.
It is a current project cause I will change some things, like a thomson Stem and seatpost, and maybe I will fit some risers for when I'm going to school.
Pictures first.
seatangle seems wrong but that's of photo angle.
Giant Stem only because the original stem was much to long.
Tips are welcome!
Cheers.
