Planet X had full carbon EA70 forks for £80. Together with and a £100 Pre Cursa frame (see the Dolan ebay outlet) – thats a good deal IMO.

I'll check out those forks, cheers!

Or buy the frame, forks, HS and seatpost bundle for 200 on ebay and still buy that EA70 fork. Track and road options for the price of the (probably inferior) leader.

I've just brought the Leader, it's much better for the road as it's not an actual track bike, built for the streets and stuff.
-
• #6
Leader wheelbase + geo = Guaranteed anti
The pre cursa with road forks will work just fine on the 'streets and stuff' too.
-
• #7
That's my leader, anything anti?
-

With forks the leader is a good £160(with the standard forks) more. Anyone think it's worth the extra dollar?
Thanks in advanceDon't forget to take in account of what come with the bike.
i.e. the Dolan come with headset, seatpost, seat clamp and fork, whether the Leader I think only come as a frame-only.
The pre cursa with road forks will work just fine on the 'streets and stuff' too.
1+

As I say, Leader are more road friend than a Dolan would be i.e a hell of a lot less stiffer.
One fucking comfy ride aswell. -

I seriously doubt it would be "a hell of a lots less stiffer".
It's no less stiffer than says, a BMC Streetracer.
Where is the geo chart for the Leader? I can't find it in their website.
-
• #11
Ok, I over-exagerated on the stiffness scale there, but I've rode both and the Leader is the one I'd go for, just sayin'
-
• #12
Why the hell is there's no geometry chart for the Leader bikes? I can't believed I haven't notice this for a long time.

Fucking hell, a tasteful leader build, that's got to be a first'!

Cheers ltc.

Bars could be a bit more orizzontale. ^^

barfs on cock

the pre cursa isn't as steeply angled as some of the other dolan's, it's hardly pure track (mine has mudguard mounts on the back) with a pair of road forks on it makes a fine commuter (No toe overlap either)Frame was £110 delivered plus a pair of columbus tusk carbon forks for £55 makes it a decent cheap option
And barry, we've been over this, needs a black saddle, and is that a half link chain?
-

Headtube is longer than the Track Champion too, the only other that are more relaxed is the Seta.
Are they're really mudguard mount? Doesn't look it.

It's a hole in the track ends.

Pedals/straps, hoodie, and tuck your shirt in.
{ you did ask }

That's my leader, anything anti?
HUGE front wheel clearance
stickers still on wheels
high spoke count with radial lacing
brown saddle with black bike
wtf? Have you got bullet valve caps? Are you 8 years old?
bad shoes

That's my main qualm with the leader, front clearance is big! I'm going to be using it on street and also riding herne hill this summer, so I'm guessing from the comments the Dolan would be more suited yes?
-
• #23
Have a 725 myself and whilst I really do like it a lot, it wasn't cheap and feel I would've got more bang for my buck, had I got a pre cursa.
Also, wouldn't advise the standard Leader forks. Aluminium frame + overprices aluminium forks is a bit crap. And you can get a nice carbon fork for ten pounds more than the leader aluminium fork which is way too expensive for what it is..
^ that advice was for if you did go for the Leader. Would get the cursa though if I were you.

If that's the case, go for it, even with road fork, it's still good for the track.
Still can't believed Leader refused to show their geo chart.

Geometry doesn't matter if you're a hipster Ed... When in doubt go one size up and get a stupid short stem for radder twitchy steering.
Why would anyone want ALU forks?!
My trusty Harry Hall is slipping into retirement as a pub bike so looking to build up an alu frame this summer. Debating either a leader 725, or a dolan pre cursor.
With forks the leader is a good £160(with the standard forks) more. Anyone think it's worth the extra dollar?
Thanks in advance
