i would say you would get more on ebay.
if i had found the frame and wanted to sell it i would want more than that. i would consider it a very rare type of frame at a not rare type of frame price.
-
• #5
i like that. a lot!
-
• #6
So cool! Needs restoring!
-
• #7
I was going to restore it, but I do not have the fundings to respray and suit it with a decent group. I might throw it on eBay...
Used to be my brothers but he has no idea today how he got it.
Glad you like it. -
• #8
I quite like the patina on it. Would be a shame to respray. Can't wait to see how this gets built up. Somebody buy it!
-
• #9
Would it be wrong to build this up using a modernish groupset?
-
• #10
no it would look badass with campy super record 2012. But you wont buy this for stiffness I promise you. It was fitted with Dura Ace when I got it.
-
• #11
so the frames not stiff?
-
• #12
I havn't had it built. It is probably as good as any bike for the early 80's. But it depends on what you consider stiff I guess. Just don't want you to think you'll get a bike that performance like a modern groupset is made for.
-
• #13
i love this frame and i would consider it wrong to modernise it. its to easy to do that. i would want it to be the special bike it was back then.
would you swap it for somthing?
i have some dura ace from that era.

Would be ace with dura ace ax or some other weird aero 80's group.. I guess this was Reynolds answer to Columbus Air.
-
• #15
thats sick!
+1 would look good on 80s aero parts + small dish//aero rims, like mach 4CD or campag omega/strada
-

It used to have a mix of Campy and Dura Ace. Campy hubs and brake levers DA gears and chainset.
I need UTILITY STUFF. Something like the Velo Orange Front rack, a vintage steel mtb frame or a bilenky frame. Or a a cyclo cross / touring style steel frame/bike for my girlfriend in size 50-51. Or perhaps an Eddy Merckx frame like this one
Also size 50-51.Other than that I have no need for new bikes

Whats the
seatpost sizeand BB threading please?Scrap the stupid seatpost size question, it obviously custom to the frame, doh!
Got a Sram red groupset i'm collecting at the moment - a bit overkill but could look good... hmmm....
-
• #18
Also, it would appear from your Flikr that someone has previously hacksawed the seat tube?
-
• #19
I will take better pictures if you need but there has def not been any sawing of any kind. Normally the transition from seattube to the post is covered by a piece of rubber. Is that what you are referring to? I have not taken out the bb. I would guess it's english threading since it's reynolds tubing, but I have no idea.

I'll check later when I get home
-

A steel cyclocross frame size 58-59 is also worth a swap
-
• #22
i think it would be french thread.
i will keep my eyes open for any swap stuff.
do you need a clarinet?
i can get a really nice pink mercier frame thats about that size, maybe your girlfriend would like that?
i had an eddy merckx frame like that but it was a bit tatty and the wrong size though.
-
• #23
If you can confirm the BB threading that would be great as i'm interested in this.
Cheers,
OSR.

goodnes me it wouldn't bother me what threading it was.
why does it matter what threading it is?
if i was the seller i would pull it off and not sell it.
