Is this something you ordered new? His prices seem pretty competitive. Are the figures on his website for custom geometry or off the peg?

mr darwin.
so how was your experience of purchasing from the lovely mr goff?
were the prices on his website for a custom build?
these questions answered would be very helpful to the masses.
:)
thanks.

sorry bout that.
i couldve spent hours rooting around in his workshop. hes got tons of campag parts and loads of tools and trays with loaads of lugs , loads of wheels , a room with his bikes in there. his current track bike wich looks amazing , he also has the first frame he ever built set up as his winter bike. i think thats what finally got me sold. i give the man 400 quid and i get a frame that will last and last till im to old to ride it. his workshop was like heaven to a geek like me, i go for a 30 minute visit to chat about the frame i want and would spend 4 hours in there talking to him about all his gear and bikes and what he does .
i went down about 6 weeks ago and he had a cardboard box with my frames tubes in there, all newly machined un polished 531 tubes. wich was cool to see the thing like that ,and i chose my lugs . choosing the bottom bracket shell was ace , he pulled out this big beefy slightly rusty looking thing and handed it to me, i laughed at first cos it looked like something he found at the back of the workshop with mice living in it , when he handed it to me i tried my best to not look shocked nor worried, but after a good look at the thing hed assured me that for i fixed gear "road" bike , built to take a bit more abuse that a track frame normally would , i big fuck off heavy thick cast bb shell would better than the thinner lighter ones he had.
the prices on his site are for custom builds. mine cost 400 quid. i was going to buy a tokyo fixed s2 or a brother 531. in the end after much deliberation it just seemed stupid to not get a frame off mr goff ,
the masses of masses are questionable and need the kind of help i cant give.
pleasure. :)

Thanks for that. I'd seen his website before but he doesn't seem to get much love on here (not that that means anything). His prices are a lot better than custom from the other manufacturers. Might have to start saving.

ncg, take the time to visit his premises* and get to know the man, he has a wealth of knowledge and expertise which he's happy to share. he makes bicycles as he goes along, sometimes overtaken by other events, and doesn't particularly like to be tied down.
the finished item is well worth any wait though, and his prices are very agreeable.
*instead of going round and round the one way system on the industrial estate, upon entering peel road take the unlikely first left turn into what looks like a scrap dealers yard, then turn right, his unit is at the far end, door usually closed unless he's chaffing with someone over a fag.
(i have a photo gallery on here of his work)

only on my third attempt did i actually find the place. think i got a bit distracted and carried away spinning like fook around the estate .
he invited me down to have look at the frame being built , but work got in the way. it felt a bit like missing my pregnant girlfriends first scan of my son.anyway ill be picking it up on saturday.

That's nice for the price it's well worth it! Only thing I don't particularly like is the rear drop outs. But that's just me, other than that lovely build, I do like the colour and font choice.

picked it up last night after work. spent all last night and today till about 4 , tinkering , re-adjusting , and tweeking. ... then out for a 30 minute sprint , then repeat , again and again. reckon its done now.
only major problem was realising id put the bar tape on the wrong way round. and getting the stem just perfect.
i love it , though i might swap the chainring for something a tooth smaller. but its done. started raining at teatime. gutted i cant be out on the thing. but , i have all summer yet. miles and miles of long country road and short steep hills to blast up and down and then theres the new velodrome in huyton wich will be ready soon.
cheers mr goff.
