• Hi, i was looking into getting a new frame and one that i'm interested in has a bb86 bottom bracket
I was hoping to use the dura ace cranks on this frame but couldn't find anything on the compatibility
I was wondering if anyone else had used this style of bottom bracket and what cranks would be compatible?
    Best wishes,
    Jack Allmand

  • What frame is it?

  • It's a WS01
It's designed as a tt bike

  • It appears that you can run Truvativ Omnium cranks with the Sram press fit bottom bracket. I've not looked at FSA track cranks before but they may also produce a crankset that will work as they are one of the three main companies (Shimano, Sram and FSA) who produce suitable road cranksets.

Dura Ace track cranks only work with Octalink/Square taper bottom brackets which cannot be made to work with BB86. This obviously applies to any cranks that use the standard types of bottom bracket.

Another solution could be to use a suitable road crankset with a single ring.

  • I believe you to be very much correct!
    Sram omniums it is!
    Thanks for the help
    Best, jack
